The best solution for a tired voice: Silence. As much of it as possible, consider rationing all speaking and singing. Take small naps of silence every 30 minutes, just 1 min complete silence. That and hydration, steaming and avoiding loud environments! I’ll make a separate video just for this community!

There’s also a lot of positive talk around drinking any herbal tea with liquorice root in it

A quick warm-up you can do anywhere
Before you sing, start from your speaking voice. 1. Stand tall, open your chest and let your shoulders drop. 2. Say “Yes!” loudly and openly, like you really mean it. Three times. 3. Now say it on a comfortable note, and slide it gently up and down, keeping that same open, speaking feel. Try it and tell me: did your voice feel freer when you moved into singing? Want a full warm-up with piano? Coleratura is free: colemanjamesvocalcoach.com/coleratura
Tell us:
1. Your name and where you are 2. What you’re singing at the moment 3. One thing you’d love your voice to do I’ll go first: I’m Coleman, I’m Irish and I live in London. At the moment I’m singing "Who I'll Be" from shrek, and I’d love to build a fun singing community that brings people together, creating better singers and bringing me the students I'd love to have.
Welcome! Start here
Hello and welcome. I’m Coleman, a vocal coach in Soho, London, and this is my free community for anyone who loves to sing. Here’s how it works: • Ask me anything about singing. No question is too small, and I’ll answer. • Share what you’re working on: a recording, a song, or a sound you’re stuck on. • Come to events, online and in London. They’ll be in the Calendar. • Be kind. Everyone here is learning, and silly sounds are very welcome. You’re joining right at the start, which makes you a founding member. Tell me what you’d like this place to be and I’ll build it with you. First job: say hello in the “Introduce yourself” post.
