How I Made Exercise SUSTAINABLE
In this video, I want to share how I finally made exercising a SUSTAINABLE habit. Here are the steps I took: ✅ MINDSET SHIFT: (1) I switched my mindset from thinking that self-care was an optional luxury, a waste of time and a family time sacrifice to making self-care a NON-NEGOTIABLE PRIORITY (2) I eliminated the dabbler mentality and instead focused on mastering ONE activity (3) I ditched the "mom guilt" mentality and confidently started to set boundaries to carve out self-care time. ✅ I FOCUSED ON MY WHY: (1) To have the vitality, the longevity and the mental strength to take care of both my boys, and especially my severely autistic son long term, ✅ I CHOSE 1 ACTIVITY THAT I WAS PASSIONATE ABOUT: Instead of dabbling in different activities, switching and quitting (one week was Yoga, the other was jogging, the other Pilates, etc .) I focused on ONE activity and decided to develop mastery in that one activity. ✅ I SET A BIG VISION and SCARY GOAL in that one activity: In my case, I decided to stick with walking, jogging and running. Eventually, I went from not being able to walk for more that 2 minutes to running a 5K race, then a 10K race, then a half-marathon, a marathon. Ultimately this lead me on a path to running 23 marathons, including the 6 biggest and most prestigious marathons in the world. ✅ I CREATED MICRO-GOALS & RITUALS : This step is essential because it eliminates procrastination and overwhelm. This micro-goals are so small that it automates the behaviour. By creating tiny daily micro-goals, you feel a sense of accomplishment and this creates positive momentum and desire to "keep coming back for more". This is how I made exercise (and any other self-care activities) a habit. Remember that when you are starting you have the humility to "start small". With that said, it is also important that you set a big vision and create a big scary goal that will scare you and excite you at the same time ! Wishing you all a FANTASTIC week ahead 💖💖💖

Don't Let Life Pass You By...
Just saw this post by "Mommy JM" on my FB feed this morning and I shared it on all my socials. I thought I would share here too: "Dear Mom You don't need to take care of everything, you don't have to be a super mom, a super housewife, a super professional, a super woman. Because when your body gets tired, there will be few who will remember that you tried to be all of this in one person. So, leave the house for later, go for a walk, go to the park, start the gym, buy clothes, go to the salon, sleep, be yourself, take care of yourself, love yourself, and do it exclusively for and for you. Kids grow up, the husband sometimes leaves, the job finds a replacement, the house will get dirty again, but you don't get a second chance. -CTTO-" _____ And now I'm adding my own thoughts: In the non-stop hustle of the multiple responsibilities we carry, we often lose ourselves. Then 50 hits and we find ourselves UNHEALTHILY, UNHAPPY and UNFULFILLED. Don't let this be you. I'm actually going to postpone the Masterclass to June 8 as I want to fully heal from my eye issue and won't have time to host it before a work trip to LA on the weekend of May 24-27. I Spent Part of Saturday in The ER...
Happy Sunday evening beautiful ladies ! I just wanted to share a little bit of what happened to me this weekend so that it inspires you to take your medical issues SERIOUSLY. Here is what happened... Woke up on Saturday with an issue in the back of my right eye. Difficult to explain but feeling like there was some dark moving liquid behind my retina. No pain in the eye, no redness, just dark moving "filament-like" dark liquid behind my eye. WTF 😳? Intitially I thought... Is this some kind of neurological problem ? Is this due to all the intensive work I been doing on the computer ? (Have been intensively working behind the scenes on a very exciting project. I am switching all my online courses from the Kajabi learning platform to YouTube and then to my new learning platform in Skool. Starting a SECOND Skool community which will be a membership for women over 45 who want accountability on getting their sexy back with menopause specific nutrition, fitness, stress reduction, longevity and lifestyle strategies. More on that coming soon...) Anyways, my first reflex was to go to the ER but then I thought nobody will take me seriously and I'll wait for hours until they see me... Maybe I should go to a walk-in clinic? Finally, I decided to call the eye clinic where I get my contact lenses. They usually have one or two optometrists on staff on Saturdays. Maybe I could get an emergency appointment? To my relief, the optometrist had an opening at 1:30 pm. My autistic son Nico came with me to the appointment and he behaved like a champ despite the fact that the appointment lasted over 45 minutes as my pupil had to be dilated with some drops. The conclusion: an hemorrhage in the vitreous gel behind the retina. The retina is the nerve layer at the back of the eye that sends images to your brain. Needed to go see an ophthalmologist ASAP in order to see if the right retina itself was affected and if there was any retinal tear or detachment which can cause vision loss.
