Getting To Your Spots On The Floor. Watch This
In training, I often talk about getting to open space on the floor. Some players confuse this with just any open space without factoring in the type of defense that is on the court. The way I was taught is that there's six consistent spots on the floor that you should try to get to and players at all levels use it to this day. Those spots are the elbows, short corner, and corner three. In the video they will talk about it. After you start to really develop your game in your way, you'll start to have more spots. For example, a spot of mine on the floor are the two wings on the three-point line. This is because I like to sidestep away from defense at an angle, and I shoot a higher percentage from the wing compared to say the middle of the key. Other Hoopers I played with like specifically the corner. It all depends on you. But spots that's always going to be open is the mid range because it is the middle ground in between the initial defender and the help defenders.
