What are your 3 Objectives for Monday's Practice?
Drop them in here, we will be answering questions on this weeks cohort call on how to shape the environment to get traction on what matters most to you.

1) Improve our dance and flank zone actions 2) Improve our clarity for off ball LL roles 3) Improve our recognition of neutral and flow into our actions
College basketball teams that run LL?🤔
As we enter basketball season, what are some college teams men’s or women’s that run LL?

Carleton University (Canada) is the source material for allot of the lock left concepts. Not sure if they still run it to this day. I believe Bob Jones University runs it some as well.
Practice Planning
Quick question. Do any of you spend the first week of practice with specific offense or defense days? I've always been heavy defense the first week, just to set the tone....but we would always work on our transition and tempo on offense in between working on our D. Then as preseason progressed we would sprinkle in more of our offensive concepts, while still repping defense. Always looking for fresh ideas that still work with my beliefs.

I tend to lean more towards offense first and ramp up the defensive feedback toward the start of competition. However, I am trying to always work on my two way teaching. We are emphasizing what to do on both sides of the ball in every drill/game.
Less Dribbling
If you were going to implement a version of Race and Space with more of a focus on passing way less dribbling where would you start? What would be your main actions?

I would start by playing a knockout game. 5v5 full court where your team gets knocked out if a player dribbles more than x amount of times. You can really change the constraint of any game to influence more passing and less dribbling by adding the knockout component. It’s possible to even do warmups in a similar fashion. We call it gator tag, I think there is a more popular name for it. Two large teams. One team is “it”, they must tag everyone out from the other team with the basketball, but they can only pass and the player with the ball cannot move. See which team can tag out the entire opponent team the fastest.
The Best I Can Give
This weekend we did a team retreat. Everyday at practice I offer a voluntary prayer and never see who does or does not participate. This time the moment got captured. I don’t think it’s a good idea to pray for show. I do think if you pray you don’t need to hide. This by far is the most I can give my team. And I am elated about their choice to sincerely receive it in a surreal, sincere, connected way. !!When you infuse what you’re doing with God, you cannot lose - no matter what the scoreboard says!! (Take what you need)

I’ve been coaching in Central Florida for 3 years. I am a varsity head coach for the first time this year. Excited to be here and learn!
