Co-Writing Session at 6 PM PDT
My new monitor is in and I'm ready to co-write with you. What are you geared up to write about? I could write about how losing my flame (again) is because I've caring for one of my best buddies who landed face first after hitting something in the bike lane, but really it was because I was distracted several times today. My friend's bicycle accident happened just before 10 PM Sunday night. By the time I got there, he was in the ambulance with his head bandaged up. Story to be continued ... will you be joining me?

@Pamela Lynch you're a wonderful friend!
This is your sign
Your story is not too ordinary to matter. I asked the question on TikTok: "What gets in the way of your creative flow?" Over 9,500 people saw the video, and in the comments, one answer kept surfacing: they didn't think anyone would be interested in what they wrote, because nothing dramatic had happened to them. That's the lie many people carry: "no one cares what they have to say." Yet the opposite is often true. The most ordinary moments, the ones you assume are too small to mention, are often the ones that stay with readers longest. Not because they're extraordinary, but because they're true. And truth, it turns out, is rare enough to be worth writing down. What ordinary moment from your life do you think no one would care about, but hasn't quite left you?

This is so true! ENTIRE careers of comedians are built around everyday experiences, not to mention that one show "about nothing."

@Pamela Lynch I think I rewatched it twice over during the pandemic 🤣
Ideas Worth Spreading - Grit
It takes GRIT .... To write a book. To build our business. To play the long game. And, sometimes just to get through the day. Several years ago I did an assessment that determined my top five unique virtues. Zest was on the list. Not grit, but zest is connected to grit. Angela Duckworth's TED talk caught my attention. "In positive psychology, zest (characterized by energy, enthusiasm, and a "joie de vivre") acts as a foundational, energetic fuel for grit(defined as passion and perseverance for long-term goals)." Angela Duckworth This is an idea about grit is worth spreading. What idea do you have that you know is worthy to share that would be valuable to our community? P.S. It can be your own video, idea, article.

To answer your question at the end, I love talking about ways to use what we're learning through neuroscience to work WITH our brains to grow our businesses vs. old school forcing the hustle and grind. https://youtu.be/8iH61U8z8SQ?si=RHPlAo_0D5-UFebG

@Ryan Clark lol that's a perfect visual!
What are you most looking forward to this week?
I'll send positive energy to your desires if you drop your top goals in the comment. I've got two speaking events in the next 24 hrs, and will share the one with Kristen on YouTube within the next 24-hours. The Significant Moments of Purpose event in Kelowna this evening will come from the event organizers. #2 goal is to finalize the mansucript Married Widow by Lucie Miłosz Haskins!
