2 of my close calls
Adding two of my close calls which Dan also featured in one of the live streams for all of you to see :) 1st one happened during a duty call (you can see the strobe lights on my fender) while I was riding on high speed within the city, and pure instincts saved my life here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfyRpzskxNU 2nd happened during my ride to work when I’ve managed to spot a big obstacle on the middle of the road and managed to avoid it thankfully https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VG6nfz3EFQ0 Ride safe, be safe guys!

@Elad Best that mental strategy of looking for the hazard certainly made all the difference. Perceived the threat with enough time to respond without panicking. Kudos to you
Safety glasses?
Anyone else wear safety glasses under the visor? Ive always personally worn them. I keep 3 packs of milwaukee clears and tinted safety glasses handy. Theyre ansi z87+ rated which makes them impact resistant. Nice for when im riding with the visor up to protect the eyes and an added layer of protection incase something kicks up and hits u in the face and breaks the visor. My coworker came to worth with a black eye cuz a truck kicked up a rock or chunk of rubber. It caved in the visor and gave him a shiner. I told to wear safety glasses. The milwaukee 3 pack is like 23 bucks at home depot the arms are flexible enough they dont give u fatigue or hotspots around the ears. And for roughly 7 bucks a piece if they break get lost what ever its not really a big deal. So curious if anyone else out there does this. If you dont, u might consider it. U only get 2 eyes and u can never be to safe.

I tend to use safety glasses on particularly hot or rainy days. On rainy days it allows me to keep my eyes protected even when I want to flip the visor up. On hot days I can open up the visor. Get some airflow and not be worried about debris.
Howdy SRC!
I’m about 3 years into my street riding career with my trusty Himalayan 411 (2021). It primarily serves as my commuter with a few long trips to take rider training. It’s in the pieces now that I’m giving myself the goal of doing as much possible maintenance. I just took the wheels, brake pads, and chain off for the 1st time (so much dirt & gunk by the front sprocket). I’m on the hunt for new tires to try installing myself. Wish me luck!
