@Paul Yetto a slow bite's better than no bite. It's only 100℉ heat index here today.
Glad to be here.
Rodney from blackwater country, down where the rivers run dark and the gators keep you honest. I do a lot of canoe camping and river fishing, with a YouTube channel and my own outdoor community built around it. Looking forward to swapping stories with the fishermen, hunters, and builders in here. Always more to learn, and always glad to share what the rivers have taught me. Ora et Labora right back at you

Glad to have you @Rodney Thompson Outdoor Skills ! I'm looking forward to hearing more about your awesome adventures. I used to waterski near some gators, but they never caused any problems. Unlike the snakes that would occasionally try to hop in the boat with us! Still, my old man named the club the Gatorbait Ski Team. 🙏🛠️
☀️Start Here😎
Welcome to the CSCarpentry Skool community! Start here! 🎣Step 1: Introduce yourself. Introduce yourself to the community by commenting below this post. 👇 Let us know who you are, where you're from, and what you do. Share a recent hunting, fishing, camping, or woodworking experience. 🏹Step 2: Level up. Leveling up unlocks benefits in the classroom. Everyone starts at level 1, and level 2 unlocks the first benefits. Level 2 is the easiest to achieve, and can be attained very quickly by simply commenting on group posts and conversing with members. 🏕️Step 3: Get the Skool app. The sooner you download it, the better you will be able to keep up with everything happening here on Skool. This is key to getting the most out of this amazing platform. 🔥Step 4: Enjoy, learn, teach, and share! What's unique about Skool? Pretty much everyone here is here to learn and teach. That's what's awesome about this space, and the only way that it works is with active participation.

@Christian Martinez welcome Christian! Do you have a favorite strategy for bass?
How close to bottom do you fish?
I was out with my kayak and got skunked. Stocked trout pond. Guys fishing from shore were catching a bunch. I tried spoons, crankbait. Another kayaker said he was using dry flys and caught a couple trout. I want to maybe anchor my kayak and do a bobber. Any advice?

This is a tough one to answer without more info. There are too many factors to consider. What would I do? I would start with what I'm most confident in and start looking for clues as to what factors might affect the behaviors of the fish.

FYI, @Paul Yetto goes over lots of specific scenarios in his Skool group explaining when and why to use different techniques, including depth, time of day, and locations to give you a full arsenal of strategies to add to your tackle box. He's also currently developing an app to help make all of these decisions easier and more efficient and effective. 🐟🎣
Finally Friday! 😎☀️

@Silas Amlaw Go get em Silas. Good luck. I haven't caught any of those species yet. A halibut would be awesome!

@Silas Amlaw nice haul brother! I bet those mats help a ton. Are these designed specifically for boats, or are they the same mats commonly used on land?

Howdy! I'm Chris. I build, sell, and ship custom solid hardwood fishing rod racks to the best fishermen across the USA 🇺🇸.
