@J Y That sounds about like the perfect week to me. I'll bet he was worn out after packing that elk out all by himself, or maybe you helped a little? Either way, there's no way he's ever forgetting that adventure!

Around here, we had a full weekend of soccer, soccer, and more soccer.

@Eric LaPierre sports are fun, too! We slipped away during a small window of opportunity between the kids' games.

@Heather Boers That sounds delicious! It sounds like you may have started yourself a good old family tradition. We cook on cast iron over here as well, and we have to keep the aloe vera handy. I hope one day to have a garden productive enough to do something like this with.

@Paul Yetto Nice work Paul! It's 93 degrees here today, but the forecast doesn't show it getting this hot again any time soon. We should see it dip all the way into the 60s here by this weekend. Did you catch any of those bass on the slip bobber rig that you recently pulled out of retirement?

@Paul Yetto You don't know what works until you try it. I never have targeted walleye before. Sounds like fun!

@Silas Amlaw That does not look like fun at all! I hope you're healing up well.

@Silas Amlaw That is an important skill set to have when it is needed. I always have admired my friends who had EMT training for their readiness to help with any disaster. I wish I had more knowledge in this area, and I think the high schools should prioritize teaching these important skills and financial literacy a bit more than they do. So many folks don't have anyone at home or outside of school who is willing and capable of teaching these skills to them. When you say trimming saw, are you referring to one of those telescoping saws with the sharp branch slicer on the tip?
