Why I Bought a Bambu P1S and an A1 (Before Really Knowing What I Was Doing)
Full transparency — I already own a Bambu P1S and an A1. But here’s the honest part:Owning the printers is not the same as knowing what I’m doing. I bought them because: - I wanted something reliable - I didn’t want to constantly fight hardware issues - I wanted to focus on learning the process, not fixing a machine all day What I don’t fully understand yet: - Optimal settings for different prints - When to tweak vs leave defaults alone - How to make prints consistent - What’s actually worth printing if I want to sell So even though I have good equipment, I’m still starting from zero in terms of skill and business. Next step: I’m running basic calibration prints and documenting everything. If you own a P1S or A1 — what was the biggest learning curve for you?

What I Realized After Researching 3D Printers
I spent a few hours researching beginner 3D printers and honestly… it’s more confusing than I expected. Things I didn’t realize: - There’s no “perfect” beginner printer - Everyone has strong opinions - Setup and calibration matter more than I thought Right now I’m trying to decide based on: - Ease of setup - Reliability - Community support I’d rather start simple and actually learn than buy something advanced and get overwhelmed. Question:If you started over today, what printer would you pick as a beginner — and why? I’ll post my final decision next.

This is day one.
I have no prior experience with 3D printing.I’m not an expert. I’m not selling anything.I’m starting this to learn in public and document the entire process honestly. - I’ve wanted to get into 3D printing for a while - I learn better by actually doing - I know a lot of people are curious but overwhelmed - I want to see if I can turn this into something real over time Here’s what I don’t know yet: - Which settings actually matter - How long prints really take - How many failures are “normal” - What’s worth printing vs not - How (or if) this can become a business Here’s what I am doing first: - Choosing a beginner-friendly printer - Learning basic slicer settings - Printing simple test pieces - Sharing everything — including failures If you’re also brand new, feel free to follow along. If you have experience, advice is welcome (constructive only).
