Fun Friday (but really tho?)
Sometimes, emails from random subscribers make for great entertainment fodder... although a part of you wants to cry, too. Like this one... ----- Good afternoon, Side Blogger staff, I keep receiving your emails, but I don't understand what you actually do or what value they add to anyone's life. Once again, you are like a lot of other text people who put stuff around, who assume everybody is a computer geek and understands all of the nuances the computer language people use. I am interested in an open discussion space where I can discuss issues with people, but with a level of security that ensures plenty of scrupulous people around, seeking to get access to my computer for malicious reasons. So, unless I can understand what it means, I think I'm left to try to kill it off, as it comes across my computer very regularly. ----- This came from a person (or persons, because they signed off as Name & Name) who subscribed to my list 4 months ago and has opened almost every email... according to Kit, anyway... Like... what am I to make of this...? 🫠 Anyway... what's making you laugh and cry at the same time, these days? Share away!
Fun Friday (but really tho?)

[ENDED] POPUP AUCTION (hole-diggers welcome)
ALRIGHT FOLKS! Grab your shovels and pickaxes and spades (or just bring your claws if that's how you roll)... we're digging a hole in my landlord's backyard, under his hammock, for if and when this auction goes sideways, and I'm stuck with, say, a literal $3.56 solo bid... In any case... Whether I end up making $1 today or... $67 or $69... Let's try and have some fun :) Hole digging can be fun, no? Bidding starts at $1. You can bid any amount that's $1 or more than $1. Remember, the auction is for selling rights to my course, Side Income With Canva Templates: And also all of my Canva templates. You must sell the course for at least $149, or more (currently, I sell it for $199). And you keep all the money! You can also bundle this course with other courses or offers, as long as the entire bundle is worth $149 or more, you're good. You only need 5-6 sales to make an extra $1,000 per month, just sayin'. So... will you bid $1? Please bid $1... I'll have bonus! 🤑

Congrats @Aor Thitaram
Pop up auction?
I sent an email this morning to a subsection of my newsletter asking if anyone would bid $1 to have the rights... To sell my course, Side Income With Canva (plus all the templates) to their own audience. And keep all the money. It's the same course that made... A LI'L OVER $200K IN JUST UNDER 2 YEARS I need at least 15 interested people who'd bid at least $1. Will you bid? Just $1? To have a ready-made course to sell? No money comes out of your pocket unless you win the bid, so... for now, I need to know if I'll have at least 15 bidders... What do you say? Vote below, and if we get to 15 yeses, we'll start the bidding at 2 PM EST. If I don't get 15 yeses, well... let us all vow to forget this incident ever happened, and we shall never bring it up, k? k. OH AND THERE WILL BE BONUS FOR EVERYONE WHO BIDS AT LEAST $1... even if you do not win.

Beyond reselling… Can this license be used as a bonus for the winners own products/services? Can this license be used as an affiliate bonus for other offers the winner is plugging?

My Trouble with Social
It will be 1 year soon since I started using LinkedIn. I'm still stuck at 300-something connections and a little over 500 followers (sure, I started at zero, but still, I feel like others would have bigger numbers at their 1-year anniversary). But here's my problem: My goal was to increase my newsletter subscribers. And for that, social media is... shit. Seriously. In the past almost one year, I had maybe 20 new subscribers from LinkedIn... at most. Yet, just a few days ago, I ran one cross promotion and got 50 new subscribers. In just 2 days. So yeah... how do I even get myself motivated to put any time on social media??? Anyway, just ranting. Has anyone had a good experience with social media to grow their audience in any meaningful way? --- FYI: My Field Notes issue 1 (that's coming out tomorrow inside the Vault), is a case study of my latest cross-promo. Not only did I get 50 new subs, but I also made over $500 from these new subs.

My only recommendation for traffic to anyone is find one thing that works for you and TRIPLE down on it.

Let's play a game of "Who's Your Buyer?"
I've been seeing John Bejakovic over at Daily Email House group do weekly-ish riddles... and I wanna do one for my group now, lol. Here we go! So, yesterday, I was on a strategy call with group member Cinthia Reyes, and her problem was that her target audience, university students and staff members, who want to get better at effective science communication, were too broke to buy Cinthia's paid programs. So, I asked Cinthia... are these poor students and staff really your buyers? Now, I'm not gonna give you the answer (Oh, and @Cinthia Reyes, shhh 🤫 don't tell anyone)... Instead, I want you to figure it out yourself. I already gave you the hint... but here it is again: Are these poor students and staff members really Cinthia's ideal buyers? Take your best guess(es) 👇

is the problem Cinthia is trying to solve explaining technical & scientific concepts into plain language?
