End of week recap 01/03
Hello All, Super busy time of year for Design work! - Draft SolidWorks Fundamentals book is out for testing/feedback - Freelance client project Phase 2 has been approved and commenced (see video posted yesterday) - Too many ideas for content and not enough time for editing! - Projects in my FT Quad Lock role are fully ramped up - I have meetings to come with CEO & VP of Product at Thule (our parent company) later this week while they visit to Melbourne Regrettably it means progress on content here is a bit slower but I hope to give you whatever insights I can to the real world projects as they move forward. But still - time for livestream this Thursday night! If you have any questions you'd like me to answer on stream, let me know in the comments!

Real world Design work
I have some client work! I don't advertise, so it's a bit rare, but I've agreed to work with a previous client on a new product of theirs. Here is a quick example of how I'm using SolidWorks to set the foundations for the Product Design. If you like this and want to see more, let me know in the comments. I can keep you updated during the projects progression.

What happened in the last week 22/02
Hey everyone - did you have a productive week? I was reasonably pleased with my progress. I finished editing the Appearances Masterclass and published that to YouTube - it's doing just ok so far. The livestream moved to Thursday night and went much better than expected, with a good amount of viewers and people jumping in the chat! Thanks if you were one of them. I felt comfortable with the 'live design' style, so I will keep it for a while. Other than those, I made some more progress on a freelance project and getting the SolidWorks Fundamentals book out to a few people for testing. If you are interested to learn more, send me a message. Looking forward to the week ahead and breaking down the LEGO Motorcycle assembly classes into smaller chunks.

Rubik's Cube
Greetings from Türkiye. I'm trying to assemble a Rubik's Cube. However, when I connect the pieces in a specific way, the cubes only rotate left and right. I can't rotate them up or down. Can anyone help?

Of course. Can you share images or where you’re up to? Even a file?

Ok @Ismail Çolakoğlu - I have a few suggestions which may help you get organised and work out where your problems are. 1. Use some folders in your feature tree to group components and mates 2. eg. group the hardware/screws, group the central components, group the components of the same type. 3. Use the Isolate tool to view only a few parts at a time (or just hide them) so you can slowly build up the mates of the assembly 4. Click on a part you want to see all of its mates, then click on the "View Mates" icon, and SolidWorks will isolate all of the parts that are currently mated to it. 5. eg. I can see Parallel78 mate between these two parts - I don't think it should be there. It will prevent some of the rotation you are talking about I suspect you have a lot of mates that shouldn't be there. Strip them back (delete them) and slowly add them, checking that you have the correct (intended) function as you do
Content (Lesson) Requests
