Finish The Story
"I should have known this appointment was going to be chaos when..." 👇

I should have known this appointment was going to be chaos when she casually started telling me how she was trying to convince the family that her brother's girlfriend needed to be sent to a mental institution. The funny thing is, her first appointment was completely normal. She was lovely, easy to chat to, and honestly seemed like a great client. Nothing felt off at all. Then she came back for her second/third appointment. I think she must have felt comfortable by then, because that's when she started opening up a bit more. At first it was just little stories about family drama and people she didn't get along with. But every appointment, the stories got wilder, and the red flags got bigger 😅 Suddenly everyone in her life was apparently the problem. Every story ended with her being right and someone else being completely unreasonable! 🤯 The mental institution story was probably the moment I remember thinking, "Wow... that's a lot to unpack." What makes this story even better is that I was brand new in business at the time. She was my very first client, and because we'd built such a friendly relationship in the beginning, I never questioned anything. At the end of every appointment, she'd show me a payment confirmation screen, I'd glance at it, see what looked like a receipt, say, "Perfect, thank you," and move on. Turns out she hadn't actually paid me for a single appointment. Not one!! 🙅‍♀️☠️ This girl sat across from me for hours on end, appointment after appointment, happily chatting away while knowing full well that the money was never hitting my account. Looking back, the most chaotic part wasn't the stories she was telling me. It was the fact that she was showing me exactly who she was the entire time, and I was too busy concentrating on nails to connect the dots. 💀🤣

@Nicky MacLean Yes I did, she ended up threatening to ruin my business and in the end it wasn't worth my time or attention, so just moved on and warned other beauticians about her. Turns out I wasn't the first person she scammed!
3D Art Class - Bow 🎀
Here is the 3D art class live hosted by @Celine Hays today 🥳 Genuinely love watching her create her magic. Let us know in the comments what you'd like to see next (I'm trying to convince her to join us again next week 😆)

I've just watched your video and I'm excited to give it a go. I tried agessss ago and it was a flop 😅 so I'll let you know how I go from your tutorial x
Would you rather:
A. Never do a French tip again OR B. Never do nail art again

The AMOUNT of convos I have in the studio where I openly tell my clients I hate frenchies 🤣🤣 then we talk about why and why they're not just a "simple" thing

Tutorial Filming Set Up
If you’ve been wanting to film tutorials but weren’t sure how, here is what I do 😊📸 Things to note: - I use an iPhone 12 to film (I will die on this hill: best phone for content creation) - I prefer a lighter background because it reflects light and doesn’t absorb it - this is what makes it clear and bright. You can use darker backgrounds if it better suits your style, but you would just need to invest more in lighting 🫶

@Nicky MacLean is there a way to link instagram reels into here? I was trying to find a link to attach as a comment butttt I can't figure out how

@Nicky MacLean I ended up screen recording it so you can see a few examples and have a chuckle at the voice-overs 🤣 The first 3 clips are from my old tripod. It got in the way and I'd lose majority of my video once I edited out all of the bits where it focused on the back of my hand. Last clip chroming, is my new tripod. Still finding the sweet spot, but it's out of my way now and will be sooo much better. I'll just have to play around once I'm back working with clients. Anyways, probably a totally boring subject for most, but it's be a pain in the ass for me for the last year 🤣
Do you use cuticle remover during services?
It's something I'm exploring using more, I'm just worried about it affecting my retention 🤔 Any advice would be greatly appreciated x

@Nicky MacLean Yeah, I don't think I'd like a brush application, you could probably use a finer brush to apply though I guess. Let me know how you go with it x
