Module 4 Recap: I have learned and established in this module that the importance of character is what defines your legacy as a musician. It reminds me of a time my church needed a drummer to fill in for a service and when I named a skilled drummer that we played concerts with back in the day, her first response was "He is very unreliable". That stuck to me, he had the skill and the qualification for the gig, but was not trusted to fill in for a simple Sunday service. With ever changing time zones, and constant activity, the act of getting sleep when possible as you mentioned will be important when touring because lack of sleep can cause mood changes, and decreased performance which can quickly tarnish your reputation. I am fortunately known for my positive mood and energy that spreads across spaces I am in. 3 Habits that make me reliable on the road are: 1. Punctuality 2. Composure 3. Communication The skill that holds me back is punctuality when the gig requires an early morning call time. As we enter this new year, my first gig that requires an early call time is my church gig, so I will make my effort to be there 15mins earlier than our call time than my usual 1-5mins. This module was also a good recap on the importance of finance management. The call out of "Musicians not having enough money, bur poor management" spoke out to me. I am blessed to be able to plan months ahead due to gigs, but unfortunately I have enabled myself to spend recklessly this way because I know what to expect. With the state I am in at the moment, all it takes is one canceled gig, and I will be thrown off of financial balance. As I prepare for future touring calls, the tips you gave me Dammo has shown me what true discipline looks like. My regular life should have discipline in itself because the gig won't change my character, this is what I do in advance to keep the future gigs. Health is important as well, I have heard from many prominent musicians on how they got carried away with the successful life, and their health came and bit them the most at the height of their career.

Module 5 Recap: I have been reminded to build a legacy that impacts others, and prepares the next generation of creatives in the entertainment industry. This speaks to me because that is what you are currently doing for us Dammo. I am fortunate at a young age to be already guiding people through their musicianship, because it is all about humility, I remember at the start of my career being mentored and growing from expertise that surrounded me. I will still continue to get mentored, because we never stop learning as musicians, Just as you said "The moment you think you’ve “arrived,” you stop growing.". It has been an honor to study the current modules of GPCU, and apply them for the rest of my life as we all grow in the community together. Hats off to 2026!

Just coming back to this post! I believe he just played the NYE gig with you Dammo and Rachel correct?
Big Win For GPCU Member Rachel Francis 🙌🏾🔥🚀
Happy New Year, GPCU 🎉 This is a special post. Last night, I was blessed to hit the stage with Big X Tha Plug for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest in Las Vegas. It was a huge moment. But the most powerful part? One of our own GPCU members, @Rachel Francis , was on that stage with us. This was Rachel’s very first TV performance — and she showed up like a pro. She: - Learned the parts - Came prepared - Conducted herself professionally - Used tools and mindset from GPCU to deliver under pressure And she killed it. This right here is the vision. This is why GPCU exists. To help musicians be ready when the moment comes. Rachel — congratulations. This is just the beginning. GPCU family, please congratulate her and encourage her to keep going 👏🏾🎸 Proud of you. More wins on the way. — Damien “Dammo” Farmer Good People Club University 🤝🏾
