Grieving our baby who passed away
Hey c I haven’t checked in here for a while. My husband and I expected our fourth baby, but lost our last one with an early miscarriage. We have two healthy boys at home. Our very first baby girl passed away at 3 months old from a life-threatening, genetic condition. We were blessed to have her, yet it was a challenge taking care of her. Because of her condition, her body required oxygen (due to weak muscles), a feeding tube, and constant monitoring her oxygen level. She lived most of her life in the hospital. My husband and I have been praying for a little girl. Since she was our first girl, we were deeply heartbroken. We had our 10th wedding anniversary in January, but never got to do anything for it. We tried planning a getaway trip, but plans changed twice, and it was beyond our control. We want to plan our anniversary trip sometime soon. What are some ways we can reconnect to strengthen our marriage? Through grief, parenting a 5 and 3 year old, and ways to communicate our needs to each other?

Hi Stephanie I just saw this and am praying that you have had an outpouring of support and love from the community and your church, family, and friends. I was just told recently to remember God is close to the broken hearted and to lean in and I completely agree. It’s amazing how he puts people in your path at just the right time to say and do exactly what you need. I know it’s been awhile since you posted but I would say continue to pray together and for one another while remaining open to one another through communication about what you need. Praying for you. 🙏🏻
Marriage Miracle!
What if your marriage didn’t need a miracle as much as it needed a rhythm? Most couples don’t drift apart because of one huge moment. They drift because they stop checking in. They stop asking questions. They stop praying together. They stop being intentional. They stop fighting for connection in the small moments. But the good news is this: Small rhythms can rebuild what slow drifting damaged. Today’s challenge: Take 10 minutes with your spouse and ask these 3 questions: 1. How are you really doing emotionally? 2. What is one way I can love you better this week? 3. Is there anything we need to talk about that we’ve been avoiding? Comment “done” after you have your 10-minute check-in today.

DONE
Looks Good But is it Built Strong?
Some marriages look good on the outside but are falling apart underneath. We’ve learned that a strong marriage doesn’t just happen. It takes intention, sacrifice, honesty, and daily investment. You can make things look fine for a while, but if there’s no real foundation, eventually the cracks will show. A thriving marriage isn’t built on appearances. It’s built behind closed doors — in the hard conversations, the small choices, the forgiveness, and the decision to keep choosing each other again and again. Don’t just build a marriage that looks good. Build one that’s actually strong. Question: What do you think makes a marriage strong beneath the surface?

I believe that honesty and trust make a marriage strong beneath the surface. I know without a doubt that I can trust my husband 100% and that he will always be honest with me. Being true to yourself and your partner is so important and helps to build security, friendship, love, and a bond that can only be shared by two people who have been united in marriage by God.

One year my husband rented us a room at a vineyard in Temecula. He had roses and chocolates in the room and he got a room with no tv. We had a nice dinner and played games and had the best conversation. It was so nice not having any distractions and focusing on each other.
What is 1 thing you want to see in your marriage?
Could be something you want to keep doing...praying...going to church together... Could be something you want to start...forgiving fast...listen better... Comment below 👇

We just started walking again after work and even though it’s hard to get going I love it. It helps us communicate and enjoy some fresh air together. One thing I would like to get better at is praying together. We both pray but we need to engage more in prayer together.
