@Kat Thompson I thought it had potential but I ended up being disappointed by the end. Have you started Harvest of Hearts?

@Kat Thompson I thought the bank robbery was very downplayed after it led up to it for so long. I'm about halfway through Harvest of Hearts and enjoying it so far.

I am sooooo bummed to have missed this one AND the Yelm meeting 😭 This book probably isn't something I would have picked for myself and it was such a wild ride. I'm just going to word vomit here for you lovely ladies to get it out of my head and out of my Kindle Unlimited queue 😅 -I totally agree with you guys about the first half and the second half almost being like two different books. And like Phylesha said, the first part started feeling whiny so the absolute chaos that ensued in the second half drew me back in! -I was also waiting for a flashback or explanation for the anamosity between her and Len. It felt like foreshadowing that just went nowhere. I was glad when he got murdered but then her murdering his family seemed unnecessary. But I guess she ended up taking out pretty much the whole town. -That leads me back to her not giving two shits about Hawthorne eating that old man. She was like "Oh, yeah. Ok." Maybe just being treated like trash her whole entire life by literally everyone she's ever encountered made her less empathetic to other humans but I thought that was weird that she didn't have a hard time coming to terms with him eating humans or murdering people. I feel like that would have been a good bit of character development if she was going back and forth on if she can handle him eating people but she just was totally alright with it from the get-go. Also could have just been her love for him overshadowed her sense of what she previously knew as right or wrong. -I couldn't help but wonder what was happening in the town between when she went and hunted down Len and his family. I believe she came back and was talking to Hawthorne before she just wrecked the whole town. Or maybe I was skimming and she killed his family and then the whole town immediately. I just remember thinking what is the rest of the town doing while there's been all these murders? they're not looking for Rayne or they're not wondering what happened. Highly likely my memory is skewed at this point.

@Phylesha Roberts I think the angry mob was after they were abducting people but before Persimmon got murdered because Len was in the mob. Maybe the town was just sleeping 😅
