Transunion has been HACKED‼️😱❌
On July 28, 2025, TransUnion experienced a cybersecurity incident stemming from unauthorized access via a third-party application used in its U.S. consumer support operations. The breach was discovered two days later, on July 30. -What Data Was Exposed⁉️ - Approximately 4.4 to 4.5 million Americans were affected.       - The breach exposed highly sensitive information, including: Names, Dates of birth, Unredacted Social Security numbers, Billing addresses, Email addresses, Phone numbers, Reasons for customer transactions or communications (e.g., free credit report requests), and Customer support tickets and messages. - -What This Means for You⁉️ While your core credit data may not have been directly compromised, exposed personal identifiers—especially unredacted SSNs—carry elevated risk of identity theft, phishing, and fraud. It’s critical to be proactive in securing your identity. -What Has TransUnion Done in Response⁉️ - TransUnion is offering 24 months (two years) of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection services. -How to use this data breach in your current credit dispute process ⁉️ ✅Write a dispute letter, including the data breach reference. Attach a FTC report, ID, SS card, and proof of address. Submit to Transunion AND the CFPB. (Dispute lette Make it your own.) (If you choose to use a affidavit letter, it MUST be notarized. You can find a local nearby notary OR get it notarized online with a live notary. use notarylive.com. Have your physical ID handy.)
