Hey Fam, I’m Chas, a 45yo mother of 3 adult children from San Diego. After a wild 5 years of emotional, mental and physical changes I’m overly ready to get my body back on track. I’m realizing a lot of the challenges I’m going through with my body can be contributed from the effects of my hysterectomy and perimenopause. I do struggle with controlling my reactions to stressful situations which in turn makes me very sick (lowered immune system, tumors, virus flare-ups). Four years ago I was able to participate in a bodybuilding competition after losing 100lbs, now I’m back to where I started and need to lose it all again. This time I feel I’m in a better mental state than before, where I primarily was using weight training as an escape. Figure this time I’ll find a better balance and focus on establishing lifelong habits that are sustainable. I love belonging to supportive communities, hence why I enjoyed the gym environments so much. We fight so many silent battles in our day to day, that having a group who is enduring similar obstacles can feel empowering and offer hope. Thank you Luis for inviting me on here and I’m grateful we are here to support each other as we navigate our bodies and do more than just surviving our days.
