Hi everyone! I'm Charles Johnson, an orthopedic hand and wrist surgeon living in Winston-Salem, NC, with my wife and our two kids (3 years and 7 months). I've always considered myself a bit of a contrarian. My biggest "invest in yourself" moment was moving my family to NYC for the final year of my subspecialty training. In the three years I've been practicing IBC, we've lived in three states (SC → NY → NC). Before IBC, I traded options contracts. I was able to build a system that automated trades during the day while I worked. It ended up causing me more stress during the workday than it brought financial peace. IBC (and subsequently CoSpark) has given me a much better quality of life and a real sense of control over our finances. Right now I'm exploring new ways to put my policies to work, including private lending and investing in the surgery centers where I operate. Looking forward to learning from all of you and sharing what I've picked up along the way!
