Put on your Polaroids...
I don’t know about you, but I remember my grandparents referring to their sunglasses as “polaroids.” Back in 1937, when “Polarized Day Glasses” first hit the market, people were amazed to finally have lenses that cut the sun’s glare. What many didn’t realize at the time is that polarized lenses also let you see what’s just beneath the surface of the water. As someone who loves to fish, that little bit of extra clarity has always mattered to me. It changes what you notice. It changes what you can’t ignore. In her chapter The Longing, Oriah asks us to pay attention to the awareness that’s beginning to form, the thing we can’t “un-see.” It’s an invitation to look beneath the surface of our own lives with that same kind of clarity. To notice what’s shimmering just below, asking for our attention. To acknowledge what’s rising that we truly want, even if it feels tender or inconvenient or new. Because once you see it—once you really see it—you can’t go back to pretending it isn’t there. And maybe that’s the point. Maybe longing is the polarized lens that helps us recognize what’s been waiting beneath the surface all along. What have you noticed this week?

I've noticed that I need to get back to prioritizing myself and my family.

@Danna Owen, MS I'm taking more time for myself and have pulled back from some of the group coaching that I'm a part of so that I have fewer meetings each week. This past week has been very relaxing. I'm noticing that I'm also sleeping better!
Q4 '25 is almost over and what a ride 🚀
A LOT has happened since August when I decided to start a Skool community and I want to catch you all up on what has gone on and where I am planning to take The Clarity Collective. 🥥 Q4 In a nutshell - I married my partner of 7 years, we decided to sell our house, and I completed 2 professional certificates, CTA - Accredited Mentoring Program and CTA - Senior Certified Professional Coach. 📚 A little community history - In the beginning, this community was called The Entrepreneurs Book Club. I was advised to change the name unless the community was only going to be a book cub. That's how I got to The Clarity Collective and to say the least, I have certainly found some clarity 🔎 over the last several months. That's a post for another day. ⏩ Forward into 2026 - In January the Book Club will begin hosting biweekly meetups. You can get the details in the Classroom and it's FREE ! As you know the more members we have in the community the more lively the meetups will be so I encourage you to invite whomever you think has something to add to the book club.

Very cool! Do you know when the calls will be?

@Danna Owen, MS I did. Unfortunately, I had a scheduling conflict and wasn't able to make it. I'd forgotten to put it on my calendar. I've been listening to the book though. I need to download the study questions from the classroom so I can go through them. I'm putting the next one on my calendar so I don't miss it!
When shall we meet for book club?
Let's try to get this on the calendar. I think we should have an initial get to know each other for our first meeting. Vote in the poll and leave any ideas in the comments.

Fridays and Saturdays are my days with the fewest appointments. I have a lot of weekly meetings and sometimes meeting every week is difficult for me.
It's unanimous...💯
We are starting 2026 with The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer. We are leaning into living more honestly, love more deeply, and stop shrinking who we are. I want to hear from you regarding the following: Do you prefer weekly or biweekly meetings? Do you prefer morning or evening? What is your time zone? What days of the week work best for you? I am open to weekends so don't hesitate to suggest Saturday or Sunday if it works for you. Comment and we will surely find a time that works for all of us.

I’m in EST. With my schedule, biweekly would be easiest for me (assuming you’re saying every other week here). I would prefer Friday or Saturday mornings.
📚Intention as Commitment...
In January, the world shouts "New Year, New You" and pushes us toward goals, resolution, and long to-do lists. In our book club, we're doing something different. We're treating intention as a commitment to who we're BECOMING, not just what we're doing. Less "What will I accomplish?" and more "How do I want to LIVE? Who do I want to BE with myself and others?" If you want to know more about the book before you decide, you will find a short explanation of the book and its intention focus by going to the classroom, choosing the Book Club, and then looking under Reading Prompts & Reflections. How we'll choose - As you read through these options, notice which one stirs something in you: - Which book speaks to the version of you that wants to emerge in 2026? - Which intention feels most alive for you right now: integrity, inner peace, authenticity, or presence? You don't have to overthink it. Trust what your body and heart say "YES" to. Choose the title that resonates most, and we'll choose our January book based on the group's responses. Comment below any thoughts you would like to share about the books. Here's to starting the year not with pressure, but with gentle, powerful commitment to who we are becoming. ❤️

I like the description of The Intention. I haven’t heard of the poem, but I’ve been working on sharing my truth and fully stepping into my Mission, so I feel that this one will really help me.

I'm a Long Covid coach who teaches the exact strategies that help me manage my condition and participate in life instead of just watching it go by.
