Welcome to Behind The City | Start Here
Behind The City exists for one reason: Development. Every city has systems most players learn through trial and error. This community breaks those systems down clearly and practically. Inside, we focus on four areas: • Social Positioning – how you show up and navigate city spaces• Strategic Play – how to build storylines intentionally• Reputation Leverage – how to become someone cities value• Emotional Discipline – how to avoid mistakes that cost you This is not a drama space. This is not server politics. This is not recruitment. If you're here, you're serious about improving your RP journey. Explore the four development categories and start with the area you want to improve most. Then introduce yourself below:• What city are you in?• How long have you been in RP?• What do you want to improve?😶‍🌫️ Lessons (Table of Contents): Lesson 1 — Flow State: Why Time Disappears in City - Lesson 2 — Brain Chemicals: Dopamine, Norepinephrine, Stress - Lesson 3 — Why You Forget to Eat (Food Gets Cold Effect) - Lesson 4 — Why Bans/Loss/Getting Robbed Hits So Hard - Lesson 5 — The Time Warp: “One More Scene” Syndrome - Lesson 6 — The “Therapy Feeling”: Connection, Meaning, Belonging - Lesson 7 — Healthy Immersion vs Unhealthy Patterns

@Travis Tenzyk beautiful!! I love it Travis . One of the golden rules more like a golden suggestion I recommend to any new five employer is to always have a back up city you never know when you’re home. Might go under construction for a few days. Or unfortunate events may happen. Again very beautiful Travis love it!

How to Clear Your Five M Cache (Fix Texture Bugs & Glitches)
Problem: Sometimes when flying into the city you might notice textures not loading properly, buildings appearing blurry, objects missing, or the game starting to stutter. This usually happens because temporary files stored in your Five M cache become outdated or corrupted over time. Clearing your cache allows Five M to rebuild fresh files the next time you launch the city, which can fix many of these issues. Quick Fix: 1. Close Five M completely. 2. Open your Five M application data folder. 3. Navigate to the cache folder. 4. Delete the extra cache files inside. 5. Open your recycle bin and permanently delete them. The next time you launch Five M, the system will rebuild new files automatically. 🎥 The video below shows exactly where to go and what to delete. When should you do this? Clearing your cache can help if you experience: • Buildings or textures not loading• Random visual glitches• City assets appearing late• Performance drops after updates It’s a quick maintenance step many experienced players do occasionally to keep things running smoothly. Science Bite🧠: Games like Five M rely on temporary storage (called cache) to quickly load textures, models, and assets. Over time, outdated or conflicting cached files can slow down performance or cause visual errors. Clearing these files allows the game engine to rebuild optimized data, helping your system run more efficiently and reducing visual bugs. Survival Tip: Small technical fixes like this can save a lot of frustration and help you stay focused on what matters most — immersive RP.😶‍🌫️ Here’s a short video showing exactly how to clear your FiveM cache and remove the extra files safely. This only takes about a minute and can fix a lot of common texture and loading issues.

Small Habits That Make RP Feel Real
A lot of immersion is built through the small things. This post is about the everyday habits that make your RP feel more natural, believable, and alive. A lot of people think immersion only comes from big storylines or dramatic scenes, but some of the strongest RP comes from how you carry yourself in normal moments. How you pull up matters. How you park matters. How you greet people matters. If you’re always driving around like you’re in a police chase, then real emergency moments won’t hit the same. But when you usually drive calm and realistic, those moments where you actually do have to rush feel way more intense. That contrast helps RP feel real. Same thing with meeting people. Don’t just sprint up and start talking. Pull up correctly, park in a real spot, get out calmly, walk up naturally, and greet people like an actual person would. Use a dap, handshake, hug, nod, or wave when it fits. Another big habit is not always flying in with the same outfit. If your character is working, hanging out, riding, or handling business, your clothes should help reflect that. Small changes make your character feel more believable. And don’t forget to use the world around you. In certain spots, you may be able to sit on steps, boxes, or objects by pressing J. Sometimes you can lean against walls or post up naturally instead of just standing there stiff. Science Bite: Your brain notices contrast. When most of your behavior is calm, normal, and intentional, the rare moments of chaos or urgency feel more intense. That’s one reason small immersive habits make RP feel better. A few simple habits to practice: - greet people naturally - park in actual spaces - use turn signals if your city supports them - slow down and drive like you live there - switch outfits depending on the moment - use emotes to add personality - interact with the environment around you The goal is simple: not just to be in city, but to actually feel present in it. 😶‍🌫️ I’m also going to add a few emotes I know, and anybody feel free to add emotes you know offhand so we can build a cheat sheet together.
