Optical flow test
Shot this at a local comp today as practice. Not paid or anything, but wanted to test out how far I could push optical flow on da Vinci. This was shot at 60fps, the slow mo portion is at 25% with optical flow and I’m honestly pretty impressed with it. Let me know what yall think!

This particular scene optical flow worked extremely well. Next time test it out on very fast moving shots. So when motion blur is introduced then optical flow won’t work too well. You will see the frames it is trying to fill in pretty clearly.
Hey everyone, quick update about our weekly calls.
The holidays are coming up, people are getting busier, and honestly this is also the time of year where my workload gets really heavy too. So for the next few weeks, until January, we’re going to move from two calls a week down to one. I want this to be easier for everyone to show up consistently without feeling overwhelmed. And once January comes, we’ll look at the attendance and the energy of the group and decide if we should bring it back to two calls again. So moving forward the calls would be on Wednesdays at 4pm EST Appreciate all of you as always. Let’s keep learning and leveling up together. 💪🎬

Don’t wait for Later…
No matter what struggles or excuses I make. Time is moving on. And eventually I will run out of it. So no point in waiting for anything. Keep working on your passion and don’t let anything or anyone get in the way of your happiness.

What would you say makes a video cinematic?
What makes a video cinematic and what is something that would make a video not cinematic?

In my opinion sound design and visual makes a video cinematic. In specific shooting shadow side adds aspect of cinematic, making sure what you see and what you hear are both meshing really well adds aspects of being cinematic. And overall if it tells a great story it is cinematic. For example in your videos. If me as a viewer watches it and comes out feeling motivated to take on my day. Then you did a great job in all the aspects to make it cinematic and impactful. But if I watch it and am confused and it didn’t envoke an emotion then you messed up the way you delivered the message. Hope it makes sense. This video I would consider is cinematic https://www.instagram.com/reel/DRX-71YDZ_F/?igsh=MWpqbmlrNTRuZzBuMA== When I watch it I start to bop my head to the beat. And the change in audio when in the car etc adds so much to the video And this video is not cinematic https://www.instagram.com/reel/DPRm2HdkbWu/?igsh=MWM1ZGhnd2ViMWdjcg== And in this video no bopping of the head has occurred 🤣
