Sunday Selfie - Just for Fun
I will admit that this idea is a total rip off from @Karen Castillo and her group Skoolhers but there we go. I am doing a small bit of work today but the picture is of me having half made my son’s new bunkbeds. I’ve also included a picture of the room now and one when I bought the house (yes that is mould on the wall). So share a selfie of what you are up to today

Business Diaries: Arriving in the Day
This morning I woke up feeling foggy, like my body was awake but my mind was still somewhere between dreams and to-do lists? I have realised that this happens to me when I either over sleep or a wake up and then allow myself to just get an extra few minutes in bed. So I have been putting together a system I can use to get me going, because when I feel like that I cannot focus on any business tasks. I tried this morning and I was just looking at the words on my computer like they were in a different language. This is the five-minute ritual I am planning on using next time I wake like that, to help my nervous system arrive in the day. (I might even write it out and stick it to the fridge) ✨ Step 1: Drink water mindfully. Feel it waking me up from the inside out. ✨ Step 2: Let the light in. Open the blinds or step outside, light is the body’s natural signal that it’s time to begin. (a struggle at this time of year as it is often dark when I wake - I hate November 🥶 but I might try artificial light) ✨ Step 3: Cold water reset. Run cool water over my wrists or splash my face, it tells my body, “We’re here now.” (braving the cold) ✨ Step 4: Gentle movement. Stretch, shake, or sway for a minute, release sleep from my muscles. (I have been told I am a Dolphin type for sleeping which means it is a bit more chaotic and movement first thing is supposed to help) ✨ Step 5: Say out loud: “I’m arriving in my day.” The idea is that one line helps my body register safety and presence before my brain rushes into doing. It is always important to remember that how we arrive shapes how we move. So when I start my day grounded, everything that follows flows a little easier. (or that is the plan at least) What about you, do you have something you do to get yourself going in the morning?

@Mercedes Aspland I'm in Florida. We definitely get a lot of sun. Of course I'm ruined for anywhere that doesn't. If it's not sunny for more than 3 days I spiral into gloominess.

@Mercedes Aspland nope. I definitely couldn't handle it. I'd be in fetal position under a bunch of sun lamps!
