I use various AI programs to help plan my lessons and produce more tailored messages on Class Dojo, letters etc. Chat GPT is the original, free program that most people would have heard of and used. My school actually bought a whole school subscription for Teachmate AI when it came to doing reports last year, and basically said use what is available to help planning, creating model texts and other resources and even differentiating different activities. I think using AI gives information much more quicker and much more personalised in a matter of seconds, rather than having to click on different searches or websites and even having to search through loads of resources on twinkl or TES or any other websites. I've been one of those teachers who unfortunately, have had to move year groups every year, so I'm always having to plan lessons from scratch. Chat GPT along with other AI sources has been a must. There is far too much SEND and behaviour issues in class these days to keep up with workload, so AI helps in just that part of the job. I do pay out for Chalkie AI as it generates an actual lesson with slides with images, videos and activities ready. Its helpful to give examples of layout but I still have to copy, paste and edit into SMART notebook for delivering lessons. Most AI responses generally use the same or similar wording, but I make sure to read through the information and also fact check data and other historical facts using other sources before putting them on a lesson slide. Today, I actually used Chat GPT to help with marking and feedback. You can only take a couple of images before it says you need to upgrade, but I did this for work that I could not understand nor read, due to my child's handwriting and poor presentation, however Chat GPT was able to decipher the handwriting much better than I could. It was really useful to also have another set of 'eyes'. It wouldn't be something I would use all the time but helpful when you need to make sure your marking and feedback has the right mix of positive with constructive.
