Discomfort
Comfort zones are a weird thing. They feel safe, but staying in them often has little benefit. Every once in a while I will be asked to lead worship at church (and this is majorly out of my comfort zone). I find myself shaking and full of anxiety every time I am up on stage. Before we start the actual set, I have to remind myself that it isn’t about me at all. I am there to convey a bigger message. I just have to let go and let the words come out of my mouth. When I just let the Lord work and take me out of my comfort zone, that is when movement and change really starts to happen. We start to trust Him more and more.

@Isaac Wienen I’ve always been the person that will gladly sing my heart out for Jesus… from my seat. There is an entirely different mental block that happens when having to lead others in worship
What do you do?
Hey everyone! I just thought it would be cool for us to learn a little bit more about each other! I was just wondering what do you do for work currently? Are you working? Are you a student? Comment below!

I work full-time (honestly more than full-time) as a caseworker at a community-based correctional facility that is geared towards helping people with substance use disorders.
Week 3 Reflection
1. What distraction did you choose and why? How did limiting it affect your peace, focus, or awareness of God? What did God teach you through this? I chose to limit time spent on my phone in general. I struggle with scrolling through reels, I start out with one or two and suddenly 40 minutes have gone by. So, I tried to limit scrolling this week, and I am glad I did. With Christmas, I was able to better cherish moments with my family and able to focus more greatly on the gift that God has given us. As a result, God is showing me that He is with me in every moment, I just need to get better at seeing Him.

Time seems to fly by as soon as the phone is in hand (I struggle with this too). Time becomes seemingly meaningless when spent prioritizing technology. I agree that it is so much easier to notice God’s good works when our faces aren’t in our phones
Week 4 reflection
1. What steps of obedience did you take? I signed up for an 8-week discipleship program at my church and invited a coworker to do it with me! 2. How did God use it or speak through it? The course doesn’t start until January 7th, but even the build up to it has given me the opportunity to build Godly friendships. 3. What did this teach you about faith in action? I had to take a leap of faith to invite my coworker to the discipleship program, and it is leading to a deeper spiritual connection
Week 3 Reflection
1. What distraction did you choose and why? I chose my phone because it has become an addiction at this point for me. I always find myself reaching for it or trying to be on it 2. How did limiting it affect your peace, focus, or awareness of God? Limiting time on my phone helped bring me peace because I wasn’t constantly looking at social media or games that can be fast paced 3. What did God teach you through this? I need to be more intentional with my time and my peace
