"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." — Wayne Gretzky Today is Haitian Flag Day. And I keep thinking about the enslaved who decided to take the shot. Not because they were ready. Not because they were guaranteed to win. Not because the odds were in their favor. They took it because the alternative — staying — was a death worse than dying. What if they had assumed freedom was impossible? What if they had accepted what the colonizer told them to believe? What if trauma had convinced them that this was simply their lot? There would be no Haitian flag. No first Black republic. No proof that the unthinkable could be done. Your mind will build a wall of reasons not to step forward. Assumption — dressed up as logic, backed by trauma — paralyzes you. But when it comes to your life, your freedom, your livelihood... Not taking the shot is the worst thing. I've tried many things. Failed at some. Learned from all. Business ventures that crumbled. Relationships that taught me my own depth. This is what living is. Not waiting for certainty. Venturing into life to wake your senses. To remember your nature. The shot isn't guaranteed. But the miss is — if you never take it. So what are you assuming is impossible? Name it. Then take the shot anyway. Happy Haitian Flag Day. 🇭🇹 Comment below. 👇 #consciousnessoverconditioning #haitianflagday #freedom #takeaction #healingjourney #valcoach #venture
