I am closing down this Skool
Hey everyone, I have some important news about the future of this community. After a lot of reflection, I've decided to shut down App Success. That also means we are no longer transitioning to Signaly, despite the announcement I made recently. I'm sorry for the change of direction so soon after that update, and I want to be fully transparent about why. Why I'm closing the community - The trending keyword method is no longer as strong as it was last year. The market has shifted, a lot more organic apps are getting published, and the opportunity has narrowed. When people ask me for advice today, I no longer tell them this is the best path, so I can't keep charging for it in good conscience. Signaly will be shut down for the same reason. - I'm going all in on Absorbed, the new app I'm building with my partner. Shiny object syndrome has cost me before, and this one deserves my full attention. We're using a completely different playbook this time, focused on Instagram marketing rather than trending keywords. A genuine thank you I've been making courses for years, but this community was the first time I actually got to meet the people taking them, and that has meant a lot. I hope the content and conversations here have been valuable for you. The method genuinely generated a lot of wealth for me and my cofounder last year, and I know it worked for many of you too. What happens next - Course content stays accessible inside the community until the end of this month. - We'll still have our regular call today: https://www.skool.com/live/thWXSm2H4Tg - Our final call will be next week. - I'm considering keeping the community alive as a free space anyone can join, with no calls and no active involvement from me, in case it can keep going as a self-sustaining group. If you'd like that, please drop a comment on this post and let me know. Subscriptions and refunds - Monthly subscribers: please cancel your subscription now. - Annual subscribers: I'll either refund the remainder of your subscription, or we can book a 1:1 call where I help you directly with your app business, whichever you prefer. Just reply or DM me.

Hi Darius, wishing you the best! I sent a message, but haven’t received a reply yet. Can you refund me?
Live call is canceled today
Hey guys, I apologize but I've been sick and have to cancel our live call today. I'm recovering and hope to be back to full power by next week so we can hunt the trending keywords together 🦾

Shadow Work Journal: Case Study
Hey everyone, today I recorded a Case Study about one of our 14 apps: the Shadow Work Journal. It now generating $2,342/month in passive income — with zero ads, zero team, and zero work after launch. 18 months ago, we published a simple app with @Evrim Demir using a keyword we found with high search volume and low competition. We did no marketing, no updates, no promo... No code changes. No content. No paid traffic. No staff. Just strategic ASO. I am happy to answer any questions

Sharing my experience
I got really excited after learning new things here, and I immediately started working on a new app. Now I'd love to share my experience of building it with all of you! The app is based on the keyword **“posture reminder.”** I submitted it to Apple for review yesterday, so it’s not live yet, but I’m excited to see how it performs once it’s released! Here are a few things I noticed during the keyword research process: 1. There are lots of apps with “posture” in the name, but not many with the full phrase “posture reminder.” In hindsight, I probably should’ve also checked the subtitles. 2. I chose a topic that people care about all year round—like “drink water” kind of needs, rather than something seasonal. 3. The recent trend for the keyword was going up, which looked promising. Though now that I look again, the spike was maybe a bit *too* sharp—something with a steadier growth might’ve been better. I built the app using **Flutter** and **Cursor**, since I haven’t studied Swift. It’s **iOS-only**, **ad-free**, includes a **rating prompt and paywall after onboarding**, and is available **only in English** (I’m Japanese, by the way!). This is my first time trying all of these things. I relied on AI quite a bit and focused on moving fast. Honestly, I don’t think my app is super high quality—but that’s exactly why keyword strategy and the lessons I learned here matter so much. Once I get some results, I’ll share an update! Hope my experience can be helpful for others here too 😊

I'm not sure if you have had a chance to explore the course in the classroom yet. This is a copy-paste post from the Classroom > App Growth Club > Rule 3: How to launch like a pro. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let me tell you about one of the most powerful, underrated growth hacks. Not ads. Not influencers. Not SEO or ASO. Not viral TikTok videos. Just this: Make your app free for one day. Get it featured on a AppAdvice.com. Collect thousands of installs—and more importantly—hundreds of five-star reviews. That’s the Apps Gone Free strategy. And it works if you use it right. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 🙌 Credit where it’s due I first learned this tactic from my friend Steve Young, the founder of App Masters. Steve is one of the few people in this space who shares actual, working strategies—and this one came directly from him. Check out his channel, seriously. Subscribe. He’s the real deal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 🗞 What is Apps Gone Free? Apps Gone Free is a curated daily feature run by AppAdvice.com, a high-traffic Apple-focused (See Android alternatives later in this lecture) site that showcases 7 apps each day that are temporarily free or heavily discounted. Each day, thousands of iOS users check the list to grab quality apps for $0. Here’s how it works: 1. You submit your app to AppAdvice 2. You schedule a price drop (either full free or heavily discounted) 3. If selected, they feature your app in their daily article 4. On that day, users flock to download your app It’s simple. Elegant. Explosive. And yes, it’s free to submit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 📱 Our Real Case Study: Shadow Work Journal Let me walk you through exactly what we did.
