Posing for photos
I’m (very late) in writing my schedule for January. Would anyone be interested in a class about teaching a dog to sit and pose for staged photos? A lot of it can fall into basic sit/down stays, but I can throw in a little finesse to get that solid focus, ears at attention and even more “fun” poses and the use of props!

Strong Man!
WOW have I been MIA lately! Last weekend we took a trip to Courtland VA for a dog show! The show was offering weight pull again and I decided to enter Bonez after not pulling in over a year and he blew me away!! On Sunday he earned himself the Most Weight Pulled per Body Pound award for his class and weight division! He pulled a whopping 1,331 lbs 16 feet in under 20 seconds! That was the max pull he was allowed to attempt for his class and being a 50lb dog! We’ll be moving him to a different class so that he’s allowed to pull more per pound next trial since he managed this pull with so much ease!

Settling in a busy environment
Sprouty has always been my “easiest” dog in regards to settle/place work, but he does have his challenges with it. We’re at a dog show this weekend and learned that the zipper on one of our pop up crates is jammed. He is handling it in stride, but the weekend is turning into a training day the whole time he’s here! Building and resetting his settling foundations in such a busy environment, it’s always interesting to see the things I need to step back with and rebuild as time goes on. I’ll be taking a step back to focus on his settling around distractions after this weekend for sure!

Vex!
Vex! Has had a busy week! He played the show dog game from Wednesday through Sunday. He was first in the 12-18 month dog class all weekend! And even got a Reserve Winners Dog on Friday (second best of all the male dogs!) on Saturday we wrapped up early enough to come participate in the place party! I’ll admit, Vex’s formal training has fallen way to the wayside behind being a show dog, but he managed not to embarrass me, which is a brag of his own!😂 I love my little pocket rocket, I can’t wait to see what he continues to do

Mia's first recovery track
Mia is following in her Weim brother's footsteps. We got a call from a neighbor to help recover a deer this morning . He could've easily found it himself, there was a good blood trail. But he called to give her the chance to "help". Took about 30 seconds for her to figure out what she doing and while it was a really easy find, it was her first and she took to it like a duck to water. Proud Mom moment. She earned us a little meat in the freezer.
