Hi Jaedyn and welcome! I wish I could play the guitar too but I have very little musical talent. I did take a beginner piano class once but that’s about it.

My takeaway from today’s teaching is how easy and quick temptations are. The reason I do the things I’m not supposed to is because it’s an easy dopamine burst I can get. For example, drinking too much when I know I should have only had one or two drinks. I wanted to have a great time and drink a lot more when I know I shouldn’t have. I was thinking in the short term and not the long term of eternity by following God’s word by not falling into drunkenness.

I feel like this daily teaching does correlate to all the distractions that are around us that we talked about a few days ago in another teaching. Once we figure out to just stop and breathe you can notice the little things around that God puts in our lives. This was something I struggled with growing up, I wanted a large event to prove God was real when He was actually showing me all along. By just slowing down and looking around, I realized He was working in my life all time.

@Isaac Wienen Oh yeah I still look for the earthquakes today when all I need to do is think about what happened that day and realize He did show me, I just had to stop and think.

My testimony
I’ve grown up going to church every Sunday with my family but never really connected. Just went through the motions, never really paid attention, and thought nothing of church. I got to college and wanted the “college experience” and just tried to party and drink all the time. By the time I got to my junior year I realized this wasn’t me and needed change. I started going to Cru and reading my Bible more to get closer to God to better myself as a person. A year later Isaac invited me to Bible studies on Sundays and is one of the best things I’ve said yes to! But after getting into dental school and completing my first semester, I’ve been slacking with my readings and studying. Thankfully Isaac introduced Christ First to me and I’ve been loving it so far! It really helps me connect with God each day through the week instead of just on Sundays. Can’t wait to see where this can be in the future!
