Avoid avoiding ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿซฃ
Avoiding is a powerful tactic that our brain uses to give us some relief from the stressor. This can be anything and especially the job hunt. Looking for a job is not for the faint of heart. It involves overcoming fear of putting yourself out there, rejection, and meeting (and impressing) new people. It's a lot. It makes perfect sense why you want to avoid that, but I want to let you know that avoiding doesn't fix. It only delays. And it makes the middle part of any new thing way more difficult than it needs to be. I suggest that instead of avoiding, you dive in with both feet, feel awkward, make the mistakes, and learn from them. This is the fastest way to the gain skills to do the thing. And then, before you know it, you'll be on the other side in expertise. Tell me the thing you're avoiding.

@Angie Turgeon-Ladeau See how sneaky that brain is. It said "but we're learning! this is helpful!" Glad you caught on to it. Great awareness!! ๐Ÿ˜„

Nailed it! But then...
My daughter is looking for a job and she is coming to me with questions (which I love ๐Ÿ˜). She applied for this one job which she was interested in and excited about. Here's what happened: โœ…She applied on Indeed โœ…She got the phone interview โœ…She nailed it โœ…She got the in person interview We're on a roll... But then... They texted her that they have canceled the interview and said they are cancelling the position Wait! What?! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ A shock. A blow. A disappointment. BUT NOT A SET BACK! This actually happens more than you think. There are a million reasons why companies do this and 99% of the time it actually has nothing to do with you. Here's the way I like to think of this (because this has happened to me too!). I'm glad they're showing me who they are now so I don't go work for them and find out 6 months from now how terrible they are. So thank you rando business for showing your true colors ahead of time. You saved us all a lot of time ๐Ÿ˜ So tell me - whatโ€™s the most disappointing job search moment youโ€™ve had โ€” and what did it end up teaching you? (and yes, it did teach you something ๐Ÿ˜‰. Dig deep my friends! โค๏ธ)

@Angie Turgeon-Ladeau Yes! the universe has a way of taking care of us, even if we don't like it in the moment ๐Ÿ™‚ What do you think your biggest take away from that experience was?
Resilience isn't born - it's made through...
๐ŸซฃHoping for that job and being disappointed ๐ŸซฃRejection from the auto email and going back in. ๐ŸซฃStumbling and feeling embarrassed in your interview and scheduling another one the next day Each of these things is painful when they happen but bit by bit they are building your resilience which allows you to keep digging into Indeed and finding the next job to apply to, having the interview, and getting the job! Tell me about a time when resilience has helped you the most.

I'm going out to our local coffee shop with my husband Saturday morning and I usually have a call scheduled with my friend Sunday morning but she's ditching me this weekend because she's having her own coffee date๐Ÿ˜‰โค๏ธ๐Ÿค—
