Does anyone have iZotope's "Velvet?" I'm wondering how it compares to RX 11 for de-essing, de-clicking, etc. Looks like it might be easy to work with, visually.

@Luan Ngo I just upgraded from RX Elements. I’ll need to watch some tutorials.
How to Book a Mentor Check-in
If any of you are having trouble booking check-ins, or are new to Mastering.com Membership, we've put together a new document that walks through the process of booking a session. (Standard and Premier Members can upgrade to VIP at https://skool.com/mastering/plans to receive Check-ins and access to other benefits) As a VIP member, you can book one Check-in session per calendar month for one on one mentoring. The sessions are in 15 minute increments and are for asking questions or reviewing tracks you are working on, both assignments from the curriculum and personal music. These sessions are open to members to join and view to learn from watching the mentor sessions. Please read this doc carefully for full instructions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TWVySVsg6QyOED7G9CVf8HtwAxDWHRSzy5ggTMwm0wU/edit?tab=t.0 Hope to see lots of you on calls soon.

@Phillip Laycock Same question. Is there a way to upload the link between booking and the actual session?

@Rob Mayzes is there a way to see when our monthly membership cycle runs? I forgot when my month runs out (to book a call).
Question about the Female Producers Call
I can see in the calendar that there are monthly calls for women, which I think is absolutely fantastic! The call unlocks with a premium membership, but it says it's for TRE in the description, thus the confusion. Are you welcome if you have a Premium membership, or is it only for women who are a part of TRE?

@Stella Jakobsen great! Thanks for finding out!
Genre info
Can anyone point me to a web resource that describes genres? I’m looking for Fantasy Metal in particular, for anime.

@Brian M This genre was requested, so I’m not sure if there’s an alternate term. References are anime music like the Attack on Titan themes. This map is very cool, though; I didn’t know it existed. I may have to just use references, but this looks like a good resource, too! Thanks.

I'm getting there! Found another resource called mymusicpiechart.com (additionally, links to Spotify to analyze your listening - not needed), and an academic study of "The Anime Sound." Something to grab onto! It's really nice to have some written information that confirms or enhances what I think I'm pulling from the references.
Recording Vocals
After a few questionable gear decisions, I now own a Sennheiser E965, Rode NT1-A, and AKG C3000, and I’m overthinking which one to use for vocal recording. Which mic will actually make my recorded vocals sound great instead of exposing all my bad habits? What are the key sound differences between them? Or take a vote which one I should use 😊

@Nick Allegro I was reading up on this and they advised using the same preamp on each mic. How common is it to run the mic through a physical preamp vs directly into the DAW? Or could you set up a virtual preamp for all mic inputs? I’ve always only recorded directly into the DAW…
