1% Wins Friday
Before you wrap up the week — what’s your 1% win from the last seven days? It could be technical — like cleaner resets, sharper footwork, or improved control. It could be mental — staying composed under pressure or keeping focus after a bad rep.Or it could simply be that you showed up and got the work in when it would’ve been easier not to. Drop your 1% below 👇 — those small wins are what stack into mastery.

@Scott Van Blarcom Excellent idea. Muscle memory. Focusing on this daily I believe will help.

Open play after two months off with injury and travel and Thomas' focus-Grounding came to mind! Footwork, paddle in front of the body, hit from the inside of the knee. I thought it and saw it happening! New focus...no longer focusing on "stop hitting the ball back to the opponents paddle"...instead "aim for the backhand foot, the shoulder, placement on the court." (All I get from the former thought is "Aim for their paddle 🙄)
🧠 MENTAL EDGE MONDAY
Topic: How Do You Reset After a Mistake? Mistakes are inevitable — but how you respond is what separates serious players from the rest. Here are a few simple but effective reset tactics used by top performers: 🎯 Reset Tools: - Deep Breath + Physical Anchor: One slow breath. Tap paddle on thigh. Ground yourself physically. - One-Line Reset Cue: “Next ball.” “Back in it.” Keep it short and automatic. - Paddle Flip or Spin: Small ritual to shift the mind and break tension. - Focus on the Feet: Reset your stance and posture. Feel your weight. Get out of your head and back in your body. - Positive Reframe: “That was a test. Next time I’ll read it earlier.” Use the mistake as data, not judgment. 💬 What About You? What’s your go-to reset move when things go sideways? Drop your best tactic or routine below.👇

I tend to analyze the mistake and want to talk it out. But I find others don't do that so I need to mentally review and also learn to move on by brushing it off and looking ahead to the next play. 🫢
What does high-performance look like to you?
High-performance isn’t hype. It’s habits. - What does it look like in your game right now? - What are the one or two behaviors that prove you’re operating at a high level (on court or off)? - What’s one small action you’ll run this week to back it up? Respond with: - My definition (1–2 lines): - My proof habit (pick 1–2): [depth targets / third-shot follow-in / reset reps / film & review / gym / sleep] - Action this week (specific + when): I’ll respond with one drill or cue that supports your action. Post yours below by 8 PM. Small actions, done consistently, win.

1. Work on Top Spin. Practice driving with spin. 2. Also 3rd shot drop returns closer to the net.
