Before discovering thyroid, Ray would drink 30-50 cups of coffee a day. he said that’s how he felt the best. Obviously this is insane. How much coffee a day makes you feel your best?

    What supplements?

Whats up everyone! I just joined the brotherhood and happy to be here. Already have found alot of value in the reclaim videos. Glad to be a part of it and hoping to increase my testosterone as well as my righteousness fidurskis perspective on bettering both of them was really eye opening for me and made me realize that we need to improve both to improve as men. Can't wait to learn more and hope everyone has a great day.

Hello everybody, my name is Matthew. I am 20 years old. I have watched yt videos about manhood and ways to improve my life. But I never truly took action to make a change. I joined brotherhood because I wanted to find a community but most importantly a family. Three things I want from brotherhood. 1. Have a better understanding of myself, improving one step at a time. 2. Building a healthy foundation long term. 3. Forming healthy relationships with likeminded individuals. Three things I like to do for fun. 1. Calisthenics 2. Listening to Instrumentals 3. Observing Nature

@Sergio Morata What are some specific results you have gotten from reclaim so far? Morning wood, sleep, energy, and etc?

@Sergio Morata That sounds amazing thanks for sharing.

Does anybody have any experience using progesterone and if so how can one know if supplementing with it will be beneficial or is it more of a shiny object ?

Here is a snippet of a lesson from The Reclaim Mastermind. Hyperthyroidism = high metabolic rate Testosterone and DHT production is dramatically increased in hyperthyroidism and their clearance rate is decreased. The most dramatic increase was noted for DHT, with plasma levels increasing by 8-10 times over the average values found in euthyroid men. The data on testosterone was pretty similar to DHT. Decrease clearance and a slight increase in free testosterone. Conversion of testosterone to its weaker metabolite androstenedione is significantly decreased, but the conversion of androstenedione to testosterone is increased twofold. There was an increase in SHBG (sex hormone-binding globulin), but free T is still greater during hyper than euthyroid. SHBG also decreases the metabolic clearance rate of testosterone. There is accelerated conversion of estrone and estradiol into estriol, which is the “weakest” of the estrogens and is often used as a final form to be excreted in the urine. High TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) due to hypo also increases prolactin. The increased SHBG will help bind free estrogen and excrete it through the urine. Estrogen clearance in the body is increased during hyperthyroid. Thyroid hormones and Vitamin A work synergistically. Hypothyroid is not only due to low thyroid hormones, but could also be due to low conversion of T4 to T3. Hyperthyroid also: 1) Increases androgen receptors 2) Decreases estrogen receptors 3) Inhibits the aromatase 4) Decreases androgen binding proteins 5) Increases protective hormones When the testes are damaged (by oxidative stress for e.g.), thyroid hormones help to repair the damage by generating new (differentiation) Leydig cells. Hypothyroidism in an adult is associated with severe intellectual defects, abnormal balance, and defects in fine motor skills, plasticity, and deafness.

@Aleks Fidurski It’s on its way to getting done bought one yesterday. But what test do you recomend for vitamins because I only got one that tests all minerals ?

  • 0 likes • 17d

@Aleks Fidurski Which vitamins do you recommend ?

What are your thoughts on sprouted legumes(moong beans, chick peas, kidney beans) as a source of protein for vegetarians?

This is not optimal for thyroid function due to the fact that legumes contain fermentable fibers that can promote intestinal irratation. Try to stay away from this. Beans are also estrogenic. Your intenstines have to be in very good health which is most likely not the case. Legumes and also tend to lower total cholestrol which isnt the most optimal for high testosterone. Overall beans are powerful anti thyroid agents. I respect the fact that youre vegetarian but these are the downsides of it. If you want a better source of protein I would say potatoes are 10x better but you would have to eat a lot more of them. I reccomend that you do more research on Ray Peat as he talks in great depth about this. I think you should reconsider being vegetarian if that is the case for you. Hope this helps. Heres an overview of who Ray Peat and what he does. https://youtu.be/xb2F8xLQMvw?si=PGJwxX3idapL8M27 Video below speaks on what he has to say about starches including beans https://youtu.be/aAkcGGoFMe0?si=tcMtpxDr-yTHIwBF

Drop all the foods that you think are beneficial to you. I've talked to hundreds of guys, and majority of them are eating foods that are awful for their testosterone, yet they belie otherwise.

Gelatin, moderate Beef/Lamb, Orange Juice, Liver, Milk, Cane Sugar, Fruit in general, carrots, and sometimes grains (potatoes, rice, and sour dough bread). Protein sources low in tryptophan to reduce serotonin and other stress hormones to improve gut health.

@Daniel Williams Dont eggs have some pufas in them. How many eggs do you eat per day ?

I have some vascularity but not a lot compared to other people. I always set unrealistic goals and tend to have self defeating behavior. I have reduced glycogen stores at night. I have low confidence at times. I also have mood swings at time and dont have emotional stability.

I’m looking to get into wrestling with a coach and all that. Wrestling apparently created the most athletic people of all sports, martial arts and otherwise. Will this help my testosterone?

@R M Yes mental experiences is good. But what I’m saying is you might deal with some low t symptoms if you overtrain plus weight cuts are also another thing that will destroy your t levels if you want to compete.

  • 0 likes • 24d

    @R M Yes that’s the best way.

How much fruit do you consume / fruit juice? And what fruit do you eat / drink? I personally consume plenty of orange juice because of it's powerful polyphenols which inhibit the enzyme tryptophan hydroxylase which converts tryptophan (which is an amino acid found in foods like chicken) into serotonin. (If you're new here, serotonin is NOT good!) One thing about orange juice, don't drink the one with pulp. Because that's a fiber = starch. Which feeds the gram negative bacteria = endotoxins.

Here are some comments that men & women have left in the comments on some of my videos. I’d love to know your thoughts down below.

@Sean Ramirez Ray Peat explains endotoxins in the gut and how starches increases negative gut bacteria which is negative for serotonin. I think that’s what it is but Aleks has explained this a lot in his videos and calls. I would recommend you read more about it. Start studying Ray Peat.

@Sean Ramirez I’m not sure about corn tortillas but starches aren’t the best if you want to improve thyroid.

I was reading about the oestrogenic properties that tap water and bottled water have. I feel like it’s almost impossible to find healthy, non-poisonous water to buy. Which brand do you think is best?

@Aleks Fidurski Does the distiller get rid of all the fluoride ?

I know this has been mentioned a lot in the group on how to improve sleep. I have been following the thermo diet by Christopher Walker these past 2 weeks. I have noticed some benefits like higher sex drive, less anxiety, warm hands and feet, but my sleep hasn’t improved completely. I always wake up at 4 a.m everyday to use the bathroom and then I fall back asleep. What else can I do besides eating more carbs before bed and more salt ?

I’ve been noticing the last few years that my hairline has changed but yet my hair is really thick and seems to be healthy to the eye. Based on your guys opinions would you guys consider this a maturing hairline or one that’s receding. Your opinions would be really much appreciated please be honest.

@Christian Koziol Yes I understand that but to be more clear me personally I currently dont have much friends or contact with people. My life consists of work, lift, eat, study, and sleep. I dont socialize with anybody really. I dont know how to get out of this rut. The only people I spend time with are my parents to be honest of now. Im like a robot to be honest.
