I’ve read almost every popular personal finance book. And some unpopular ones too. I think most of the authors mean well. But… For most business owners… Especially internet based biz owners… Most of the personal finance rules RUIN a biz person’s chance at true financial independence. This is why… …even though biz owners make more than the average, they often don’t have much to show for it except higher levels of stress, family discord and health issues. So… I thought maybe? It might be useful to dissect some of the “popular” personal finance philosophy. Rules? Or Ruin? It aint much to write home about, but 2 Classroom sales has given me $146. Subtract the $54 I've spent so far for the 6 months on the Skool Hobby plan... And I've nearly tripled my original investment. A win is a win no matter how small, right? A smart elephant named Horton said something to that effect once. I'll take it! It was TOUGH to commit to one hour a day. I got up at 4 a.m. to MAKE SURE I got my hour in. It's not a small commitment. I am glad I made the commitment. I remember watching my son graduate from high school... It was memorable for me because I MISSED so many of his birthdays, school events and such because I had NOT figured out my RENTAL MODEL and only knew a SALES MODEL. Which meant my BOSS owned my TIME! I was THEIR RENTAL MODEL. They got to attend EVERY ONE of their two kids' events... But... I could NOT get the "time off" approved by them for my son's important days. Eric graduated in 2006... I'd given my boss the middle finger award in February of that year. And I KNEW I would 100% be attending his graduation LIVE and IN PERSON! Committing to ONE HOUR a day took me 2-ish years... But... I didn't understand the RENTAL MODEL of income VERSUS the SALES MODEL of income. I tried several "sales model" businesses. "Flipping" items/services and such. It didn't work (at first) because I had to start over at $0 every single month. And I'm NOT talking about a SUBSCRIPTION business. Subscriptions are just ONE MONETIZATION path of a RENTAL MODEL of income. (We'll jam on that more later.) But... 👀What I want to know right now? Is... 👉Are you with me? To...
