🔥 GEEKS AUDIT #4: LINGUISTS SOCIETY
Carlo, there is a lot to like here. Straight away, this feels like a community with a big global vision behind it. This is not just a language course. There is clearly a connection angle here. You are helping new language learners move from learning alone to practising with real native speakers, real conversations, and real people. That is strong. You’ve got a clear topic. You’ve got a global community idea. You’ve got multiple language pathways. You’ve got live sessions. You’ve got meetups. You’ve got a member map. You’ve got a strong social connection angle. That is a very good base. But right now, I think the biggest opportunity is this: ⚠️ THE IDEA IS STRONG BUT THE MESSAGE NEEDS TO BE SHARPER You know what Linguists Society is. But I’m not sure a brand new visitor instantly knows the main reason they should join instead of using Duolingo, YouTube, an app, or a normal language course. That is the gap. Because when someone lands on your page, they need to quickly feel: This is for me. This solves my problem. This is different. This will help me actually speak. Right now, the value is there. But the positioning could hit harder. ✅ WHAT YOU’RE DOING REALLY WELL 1. The connection angle is strong This is the strongest part of the community. You are not just teaching languages. You are helping people practise with real native speakers. That is a much stronger promise than just “learn a language.” Most people do not struggle because they cannot download another app. They struggle because they do not have real people to practise with. That is where your community can stand out. 2. The global feel is powerful The member map, global meetups, native speakers, and travel angle all give the community a bigger feeling. It does not feel like a basic classroom. It feels like a global language network. That is a strong differentiator. If you lean into that more, the community becomes more exciting. 3. The 12-week conversation promise is good This line is strong:

🔥 THE ONE SENTENCE SHOWDOWN IS LIVE GEEKS 🔥
Right Geeks, today we’re making Audit Day more fun and more useful. No links. No about pages. No long explanations. Just ONE sentence. Explain your community in one sentence so clearly that the right person would instantly think: “Ohhh, I get it. That sounds like it’s for me.” Here’s how it works Drop your one sentence below.👇 Then reply to 3 other people with one of these: CLEAR = I understand it straight away CURIOUS = I’d want to click and learn more CONFUSED = I think it needs tightening And don’t be upset if someone says CONFUSED. That’s exactly why we’re doing this as a community. Sometimes we are too close to our own thing to see where the message gets muddy. This is about helping each other get sharper, clearer, and easier to understand. If you reply CONFUSED, add one helpful suggestion so they know what would make it stronger. I’ll be watching the thread and picking a few that stand out for a free mini audit.👀👀 Not necessarily the most polished ones. The ones with potential. The ones we can sharpen. The ones where one small tweak could make a big difference. So let’s go 🚀🚀 Drop your one sentence below.👇 Then go give 3 other Geeks some useful feedback. Let’s sharpen some communities today 🔥

@Suzie Kemper What needs to be clearer about learning new languages so I can clarify further? Let's say you want to learn Spanish, and you connect (link with) a native Spanish speaker, to learn and practice Spanish?
