Lettuce varieties
Id like to verify 2 possible varieties of lettuce. Woodland and Canada. And compare to wild lettuce unless it is the same. They are so close in looks this time of year. I've read to harvest at first buds. But would that be the milky sap or leaves? Can they be tinctured for sedative properties? Can they be combined together for the sap and laves? What is the best use from? I read tea is most common use but what part and is that fresh? Should they be dried to use at a later time? Im very new to these lettuce varieties so any help is very appreciated!

Introduction and greetings to new members 🫂
Hello everyone, thanks for joining our community. I have been working with plants for many years (and with some breaks for whole my life actually). Last years I started to be curious more about their biochemistry and bioavailibility for our bodies. 🍃 There is a huge demand for knowledge of this kind but also missinformation or lack of good materials for people to learn nowadays and that is why I started the community. We are preparing weekly updates - video lessons and pdf materials. 🌐 We will have both free and paid memberships depending on how deep people want to go with us in this topic. We will be starting our channels in few weeks.

My back yard starts off the year with more medicinal "weeds" than grass. This year I have an over abundance of spiney sow thistle. They have already bolted. I've been using herbs for health for over a year now. I still have a long way to go. I have started some raised beds with herbs because I really like growing my own. I also have been making tinctures and oils with some. Im wanting to learn as much as possible about herbs and everything they can do.
