Do you celebrate Thanksgiving? If so… why?
I’m genuinely curious about everyone’s perspective. For some, it’s a time of family, gratitude, and food. For others, it’s a reminder of a painful truth that history books often gloss over. Thanksgiving wasn’t originally about pumpkins, parades, and togetherness. It was rooted in the arrival of settlers who colonized Indigenous land… and celebrated the survival gained through the deaths, forced removals, and stolen land of Native people. It’s a complex day… a mix of reflection, grief, resilience, and gratitude for the Indigenous communities who still fight to be seen, respected, and honored. So I want to hear from you… Do you celebrate? Do you choose not to? How do you honor the truth during this time? Share your thoughts below. Let’s have a real conversation.
