RETURN & REALIGN: Breaking the Performance Trap
Have you ever been so exhausted… You were afraid of what would happen if you didn’t slow down? I remember sitting at my desk, in the middle of the night, overwhelmed, depleted, and not myself… And the thought crossed my mind: “What if my family finds me like this?” Not because I was weak. Not because I wasn’t capable. But because I had been carrying too much for too long. And the worst part… I didn’t immediately think, “I need to change.” I thought something outside of me needed to shift. Let’s sit there for a second. Because how often do we do the same thing? We blame the schedule. The demands. The people depending on us. Meanwhile, God is gently whispering: “Daughter… come back to Me.” I said: “I’m not myself… Lord, help me… I know I’m out of alignment.” But this time... instead of pushing harder…I paused. I fasted. I sought God. That was my shift. Not striving. Not performing. But surrendering. Reflection (Be honest with yourself): - Where in your life are you pushing when God is asking you to pause? - Have you been treating burnout like a scheduling issue… instead of a spiritual misalignment? - When was the last time you slowed down long enough to actually hear God? Truth for this week: You don’t need to earn rest. You don’t need to prove your worth. You don’t need to carry it all. You need to realign. And that starts by going back to God first, not last. This Week’s Invitation: Take 10–15 minutes today (yes, intentionally pause, today) and ask: “Lord, where have I been striving instead of surrendering?” Then sit. Listen. Journal what comes up. If this hit home for you, it’s because you’re not meant to live in survival mode. You don’t have to figure this out alone

Yep! Definitely trying to figure out why there aren’t more hours in the day instead of me unloading some of my to-do list. The alarming issue is that I know better, but I don’t do better!
You don’t need to do more… you need to come back. 🤎
“Return to Me…” Not perform for Me. Not prove yourself to Me. Not get everything together first. Just… return. So many high-achieving women I’ve worked with didn’t intentionally walk away from God. Life just got full. Responsibilities multiplied. Expectations increased. And somewhere between being a wife, a mother, and a leader…your quiet time turned into quick prayers, your peace turned into pressure, and your relationship with God started feeling distant. But here’s the truth: God never moved. 📖 Scripture: “Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord. This isn’t about shame, but about an invitation. → Come back to His presence → Come back to His voice → Come back to His pace Not the version of you that has it all together, but the real you… the tired you… the stretched-thin you. I remember a season in my corporate career where I was checking every box: performing well, leading teams, handling home, and still feeling spiritually empty. I wasn’t disconnected because I didn’t love God… I was disconnected because I was exhausted. And what shifted everything wasn’t doing more for God. It was finally slowing down enough to be with Him again. Today’s gentle check-in: Where have you drifted? Not out of rebellion, but out of responsibility? Start small: 🤎 5 quiet minutes with God 🤎 One honest prayer 🤎 One moment of stillness That’s how you return. 🎧 And if you need something to listen to today, go tune into the 'She Leads Boldly' podcast. This is the kind of conversation we have there every week. Drop “RETURN” below if this is your starting point this week.

🚨 Leaders, hear this: Not every invitation deserves your attention.
Scripture for today: Nehemiah 6:3 —"I am doing a great work and cannot come down." Nehemiah was rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem when his enemies repeatedly tried to distract him. They invited him to meetings, tried to pull him into conversations, and attempted to get him off assignment. His response? "I am doing a great work and cannot come down." That is the posture of faith-filled leadership. As women who lead in our homes, careers, and communities, we often feel pressure to say yes to everything — every request, every expectation, every opportunity. But godly leadership requires discernment and courage. Sometimes the most spiritual decision you can make is simply this: ➡️ No. Not because you don’t care. Not because you aren’t capable. But because God has already given you an assignment. Nehemiah understood something powerful: Every distraction is not an assignment. And every meeting is not aligned with the mission. Faith-filled leadership means protecting what God called you to build. That may look like: • Saying no to conversations that drain your focus • Setting boundaries around your time and energy • Refusing to abandon the work God entrusted to you The truth is…Many high-achieving women aren’t struggling with ability. They’re struggling with capacity because they keep coming down from the wall. The courage to stay focused is a spiritual discipline. And when you learn to lead from God’s pace instead of pressure, everything begins to shift. ✨ Your peace returns ✨ Your decisions become clearer ✨ Your leadership becomes sustainable This is exactly why I mentor high-achieving Christian wives and mothers who want to lead boldly without burning out or losing themselves in the process. Inside my work, we realign leadership, marriage, motherhood, and ambition with God’s rhythm — not the world’s urgency. 🎙 I talk about this often on my podcast She Leads Boldly, where we have honest conversations about faith, leadership, boundaries, and living at God’s pace.
