Ellen Makes A Difference
This post is not about me, this post is about Coach Ellen. I was sent this a few days ago, I don't do social media so I have no idea what is said or not said unless someone explicitly tells me. I do not know the woman who made this comment, I have to my knowledge not ever seen her, it's a large place. THIS....IS WHERE WORKING WITH ELLEN CAN TAKE YOU. From a beaten down, not good enough, never will be good enough, no self esteem, no belief in self really. Someone who hid, and was afraid to come out and meet the people, to hear feedback positive or negative. I have learned to step forward, embrace my gift, understand that there will always be someone better than me, but that doesn't negate my talent, to know that I will fail and learn and get back up. Recently, three months ago, I am relearning how to sing because i suddenly went deaf in one ear. I would have given in and given up if it weren't for Ellen who over our many years together has taught me to keep going. If you have ever considered coaching from her, I beg you to stop considering and do it. Believe in yourself, or at the very least believe and trust Ellen, who has enough belief in you, for you, until you eventually catch up to her understanding of who you already are.

Sorry not sorry, celebrating 21 years of marriage last week with my love, Levon, off grid. So I will take you up on this one. Yes, my husband is named after the epic Elton John hit album Madman Across The Water - named after the first lyric of the song. He is not musical in any other way. I got started when I was very young first chorale and musical productions, did some competing and traveling. When I became a Christian I saw Music Ministry as opportunity to use my gift and stay out of a rough home life. I have been doing mostly CCM for about 25 years. Although it's not my favorite genre. Anyways, I struggle to find my voice, my true sound, and owning my talent so that is what I am working on now. I am from a rural town in western Pennsylvania but currently live in metro Denver area. Lets see, I would say an active singer. Regularly in front of about 1500 people a few times a month, sometimes more - sometimes less. The last three concerts I have seen were Pitbull/Ricky Martin/Enrique Iglesias, Elton John, and probably Pitbull again. I am truly eclectic with music. Everything has a place: Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Disturbed, Josh Groban, Fleetwood Mac, Sia, Bette Midler, Frank Sinatra, Cinderella, Extreme, Michael Jackson, Cece Winans, Michael W. Smith I pretty much enjoy it all.
Register Break
Hello fellow singers! What are some of your go to vocal exercises to smooth out your register break? This is an area I am always trying to improve in and would love some ideas.
Post a video?
Anyone ready to share a video yet of a performance? Casual or formal. We all want to support each other! If you post, make sure to mention if you specially want feedback, or support, encouragement or "Compliments ONLY!!!" ( My favorite phrase ) Do you want to invite anyone else to the group? If you do you can be entered to win a million dollars!!! Wait what? oops, Maybe I was thinking of something else. Please invite others and we can all shower them with love and attention. That's so much better than a chance at a millions dollars anyway, right?

@Kavya Phophalia What I enjoyed the most in this recording is that you made it your own. You didn't try to be Carrie Underwood. You seem to have a good understanding of your strengths...again in love with the texture and sound of your voice! Continued work on the basics will really hone what you naturally have. Try to sing standing up so you can have better breath control on those longer licks to sing through them and keep your pitch on track. Keep being yourself! That is the best thing and sometimes the hardest thing to figure out as a singer. What YOUR sound actually is...that is something I struggle with. I can sound a l bunch different ways, but I don't know what my own unique sound is at times. I love to sing all genres of music, but right now have been mostly leading worship at Christian churches. Most of the CCM is very popular forward - not necessarily something I love to cover and most of it all sounds the same. So I have to be really intentional when I cover to make something sound authentic to me. So all that to say, I really think you have that down well even with just the two videos. I have a couple of songs in Spanish that I would love to hear your voice cover.

@Kavya Phophalia if you ever get a chance listen to La Llorona by รngela Aguilar...your voice reminds me of her.
