Jason from OKC, USA
Hi, I'm Jason Scott. I’m based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I joined because I believe kids deserve to feel safe in their own skin — at school, online, and at home. I’m here to learn, contribute, and help strengthen a community that takes children’s mental wellness and anti-bullying seriously. Lesson learned: Show up early — and keep showing up. Most “change” isn’t one big heroic moment. It’s consistent, quiet decisions: listening longer, speaking up sooner, and choosing compassion when it would be easier to stay silent. My favorite place in the world: Anywhere I’m with my family and we’re not in a rush. If I have to pick a “place,” it’s a peaceful coffee shop where i go every Friday to see my closest friends. I’ve seen bullying do real damage — the kind that doesn’t always show up on the outside. I’ve also seen how one caring adult or one brave friend can interrupt that story and change the trajectory. That’s a big reason I’m here: to be part of the interruption. I’ll attach one of my wife Laura and our kids — we’ve been married 20+ years and they’re my daily reminder of what we’re protecting. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Heyy Jason! Thank you so much for joining the community and introducing yourself. We are soo happy to have you here and to be building a beautiful connected friendship! I am completely in agreement with you about keeping children safe and supporting them to be safe in their own skin, online and at home. I admire your desire and determination to learn more and contribute to the mission of anti-bullying. I also find it heartbreaking that some children lose their lives to bullying without having the guidance, support, or tools to speak up, care for their mental health, or make sense of what they’re going through. I absolutely love your lesson learned message, it is so powerful and I will be approaching with the same mantra. Love your family values, the calm, slow, peaceful pace at life - is a continue dream of mine! I absolutely love your commitment to being part of the interruption of bullying. That’s my biggest hope too, to help people, at any age, break free from the lasting impact bullying can have. You have a beautiful family - thank you for sharing! We are so lucky and grateful to have such you be a part of our community. I’m really looking forward to spreading our missions together on Skool.
Introducing myself
Hello. I’m Jim Stewart from Oklahoma City, US. I started a nonprofit with a free anti-bullying and character building curriculum called Heroes in Waiting. It is housed in our website and recently with the help of @Jason Scott found Skool. @Danni Armstrong was our first to join. We’ve been friend ever since. I have lost a son to suicide and now have many friends who I call friends and are a member of a club I’d rather not be a member of. Most enjoyable place I’ve been to are the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, US. The most memorable places I’ve been are several different countries in Africa. So glad to be here and looking forward to learning from and sharing with other like-hearted friends.

Julie Brown QLD Australia
I am an English born Australian. This will be my 24th year here in QLD and I believe this is the best place to live. My favourite place to be is a difficult choice but out in nature- rugged mountainous scenery or calm and green forests or golden sunny beaches. If I am with family I am in heaven. The photo is of part of North Cornwall’s coastline. Spectacular on sunny days and ferociously beautiful on stormy ones. I loved living in Cornwall- it’s z beautiful place. When I was young I never really experienced bullying myself but I witnessed it with my friends- they were often too scared to walk to class on their own. My younger sister was bullied at school and I eventually had to step in. In those days a show of strength worked, but that is no longer an acceptable response. As a mum, I witnessed the pain bullying caused my children and helping them navigate this was challenging. Now as a teacher I see bullying too often at school and even with our best efforts it can be difficult to stop. This is a great platform to share experiences and strategies to help those who have struggled or who are now. We are here in this community to support, guide and give strength. Saying NO to bullying together will strengthen our message and resilience. Thank you Danni for the community.

Heyy Julie!! Thanks so much for joining the community and introducing yourself. It is amazing how long you have lived in Australia and how strong and resilient you are with living in a country away from your family and yet navigating and overcoming your challenges. Absolutely love Cornwall it is such a gorgeous, beautiful and calm place! I am sorry to hear about the experiences you have witnessed of Bullying. You are SO right, times have changed a lot especially with Social Media now. Bullying no longer ends when the school bell rings. Thank you so much for sharing these tough experiences. Thank you for your kind words about the community! We are soo lucky and grateful to have you be apart of the community. You will bring a wealth of knowledge, support and guidance from your personal experiences but also from your career as a teacher!
