Reclaiming My Energy: Why I Trade My Bed for the Trees 🌲
What do you do when you feel low in energy, tired or sickish? Tell me in the comments :) Since yesterday, I’ve been feeling really hit. My energy is low, I’m feeling a bit "off" physically, and honestly? My bed was calling my name all morning. But our bodies are incredible messengers—they don’t just tell us to stop; they often tell us exactly what they need to reboot. This isn’t a "high-performance" video. It’s a raw, unpolished look at how I handle the days when the tank is empty. Instead of staying under the covers, I head outside and connect with nature. As I said, feel free to share what you do when you feel your energy container runs low. Thank you. Namaste 🫶

@Simone Koopelian sometime we don´t need to do very high intensity efforts, but when we are emotionally tired, our body responses and need gentle work. Nature is a great healer to complement it.
Forest Therapy
@Jennifer Deiana I noticed you are into Forest Therapy - could you share a little more about what that is and how it works? Sounds interesting...

@Mercedes Rummel It is very peaceful. Any time you want to try it, reach out, I hosts guests, private and group retreats all year long in Portugal, nested in our beautiful forest, so I ll be happy to arrange something that works for you. In all cases, Mercedes, I´d love to know more about you. I love to meet like minded people. Always find it super enriching

It is so wonderful to meet you, Mercedes! There is something truly healing about living amongst the trees—sometimes the woods do the heavy lifting for our nervous systems before we even realize it. 🌲 It sounds like you have such a beautiful, open-hearted approach to this journey. Building that internal safety is the ultimate gift to yourself, and I’m so glad you’re here to explore these tools. I can’t wait to hear which modalities end up resonating most with you and if I can help, I will be glad to!"
Calming the mind so you can see more clearly
Most people think yoga is all about the the physical poses (asana). This is great, but to be a true yogi and live the lifestyle, we want to understand the entirety of the yoga lifestyle - not just the physical practice. Much of yoga practice happens off of the mat and in daily life. The overall goal is to calm the mind, settle the crazy thoughts, reduce the attachments to outcomes, and re-connect to your soul. We get there on our yoga mats, but have to sustain that same mindset in daily life. That is the real practice :D What are your thoughts?

I really care as yoga instructor and holistic therapist about the mind. Usually I will guide my sessions with the body sensations but as all the senses, energy and mind. Someone asked me why I bring short meditations in the Savasana. This is my own style, as I believe bringing attention to the body is as important as the soul, and an amazing complementary work. Outside of the mat there is so much we can bring in daily life and really enhancement rather than just a body work. A lot of people don´t look into what is Yoga outside of the mat but will truly benefit from it. I have to admit, I am back from running a retreat in the Sahara desert and all was amplified even more. But I love your reflexion and specially the reconnection with the soul. I believe it comes down to our the instructor guides the practice and how much he/she shares about out of the mat... and obviously how curious people are to go deeper. Namaste James
