👉 What Do You Wish Someone Had Told You?
What's the one piece of advice you wish you'd gotten when you first picked up a traditional bow? Could be about form. Could be about mindset. Could be something your dad or granddad told you that stuck. I'll start: "The work IS the point."... That one's been drilled into my head and I've seen it lived out firsthand. Whether it's the podcast, the courses, or showing up here daily, doing the work...more importantly....who you become through that process Now your turn. Drop your one piece of advice below. Let's build a thread of wisdom the new guys can find. 👇 -Jenn

I also regret getting such a late start with traditional archery. I didn't pick up a recurve until I was 53. So much time wasted.

@Richard Davis very good points. Especially with the hunting aspect. So many variables, the of them you’ve practiced, the better.
Topped up Mel's quiver
You guys saw when I made the first ones. This turned out to be a well liked design. Im calling this one Sonic. Metallic colours really pop on the course and makes them much easier to find if a miss happens. This ones built on a lightweight spruce shaft. Spruce is one of my favorites. Its a great mix of speed and toughness. I've had multiple spruce arrows bounce off a tree just fine. These are very fast

Y’all killing me with these wooden arrow builds. The cresting, fletching…that’s some professional level work. Looks great. I’m just down here slinging carbon around like I don’t have good sense. (I don’t, by the way). 😂

@Colton Deline man I think that might be above my pay grade. Lol.
Broadheads
What broad head are you shooting and why? Width, length and grain?

Seems the same broadheads keep getting mentioned. Must be a good thing. Lol Those Bear Razorheads have history.

@Grant Richardson That’d be great. I appreciate it.
New bow and tuned arrows.
I got a new bow and got my arrows for it tuned this weekend. 60" Traditional Only Oberon. Stock photo since I haven't gotten a good picture of it yet. I'm good out to 15 yards. Lol

@Ken Borst I'd love to get a custom some day. What did you end up with?

Nice. There are a lot of really good bowyers out there that are making some beautiful bows.
The Secret to Shooting a Tradbow Effectively
The secret of shooting a traditional bow effectively has much less to do with what method you use and more so to do with your mindset and you're cap your capabilities within your effective lethal range and practice! How many times a week do you shoot?

I try to shoot daily even if it's only 2-3 shots. I want to do more stump shooting but it's hard to find the time for it. Also, my eyes aren't what they used to be and this time of year we have a lot of snake movement. Copperheads and rattlesnakes blend in so well, and cotton mouths aren't known for their winning personality.
