START THE WEEK OFF RIGHT! ☀️
The first day of June… nearly halfway through the year. Let’s crush this week and start of off right. Comment below how close/far you are from your new years goals… what’s been helping you or slowing you down? What’s the best way to start the week and what habits do you find the most productive? My new years goal was to keep learning and I've been doing well. Lots of audiobooks while washing dishes and taking road trips. I took it a step further last week and applied to aquire my substitute teaching certificate again and will be enrolling at a local community College soon. I've been contemplating the career of teaching full time, worked in the public school system 10 years ago as substitute and Para and went on to pursue ag and then banking. I want to make an educated decision before I commit to school full time and decided the best way to do that was to substitute teach again. While doing that, I'm going to take a few of the basic prerequisite classes needed for a teaching degree and see if its truly the direction i want to go or not.

My name is pronounced Brittany and I'm a solo mom to a 3 and 4 year old, as well as 2 dogs. We currently call Western Nebraska home but travel a lot between here, Colorado, and Wyoming. I love being outside, live music, and all things food (growing, preserving, cooking, and eating!) I also have a goal of running a half marathon in all 50 states. I ran my first half in 2014 and fell in love, made the goal at mile 8 on a runner's high and have never given up on it. In Nov '25 I flew to Orange Beach Alabama and ran in state #22! It all sounds much better than it feels most days... I joined the community in hopes of connecting with like minded people and sharing some goals for daily habits that will help improve my mental health.

Had a solid start to the day, kicked things off with some focused deep work and it got me thinking. How you start your day really does set the tone for everything that follows. After using the bathroom and letting my dogs outside to use the bathroom, I drink a glass of water. In the past couple weeks I have started doing some crunches to increase my core strength in hopes that that will help with my posture and running form which will ease some hip pain.
