Why Some Songs Feel Empty (Even When They’re “Good”)
Ever finish a song and realize… it checks all the boxes, but it just doesn’t feel right? I’ve noticed that when a melody doesn’t match the emotional weight of the lyrics, when it climbs where it should fall, or stays safe where it should break, the song loses its impact. Lately, I’ve been experimenting with emotional contour mapping, adjusting the melody to match the lyric’s emotional pulse, and it’s been eye-opening. Curious if anyone here’s played with that idea before, or if you’ve found other ways to keep songs emotionally alive?
