Slow BBT rise
What would cause a slow BBT rise? I had a LH surge my last cycle, then a couple hours later did my trigger shot (per my RE) but my BBT didn’t rise for 4 days after that. Ovulation occurs 24-48 hours after a trigger and I started supplemental progesterone as an insurance two days post trigger. This is skin temperature so it looks lower than oral or vaginal methods. I’m just wondering if it takes a few days? I always assumed it was quick to rise after ovulation.

@Dr Fiona Tassoni this is helpful thank you! I use an Ava bracelet for skin temperature. I am tracking in a BBT app from the Ava temperatures this month, so I’ll have a standard BBT chart next month, but it was slow to rise. I just got new thyroid labs awaiting results (I’ve been hypothyroid most of my adult life). I eat and love almost all the foods on the list too! Ha
Trying for baby #2
I have lean PCOS. Tried for a baby with my first husband for 15 years unsuccessfully. Remarried at 35 and had my son ~1.5 years later. Took me almost 18 months to regain my cycle after my son and only after two progesterone challenges and 6 months of acupuncture/herbs. Just finished my first IUI which was unsuccessful. Diet and lifestyle is way dialed in and I have been on supplements to improve egg quality for the last 6 months. Here to learn💕

@Dr Fiona Tassoni I have never been on birth control. Neither has my mother. But very stressful childhood and SNPs related to adrenal PCOS. A constant work in progress. I do an hour of meditation and take some adaptogens. CoQ10, melatonin, NAC, PQQ, DHEA (based on labs) and various other well studied supplements for egg quality. I also eat a nutrient dense diet (sufficient in all macros) and run micronutrient testing prior to pregnancy to ensure all bases are covered. I’m interested in looking into Chinese herbal formulas with you. I had a history of reoccurring miscarriages too before my son.
