I know that we can all learn from each other but was just wondering if there are others here in my niche. I do mostly home and garden videos but would also like to branch out a little about being Gen X and menopausal. I’m not sure that’s wise but I’m wondering if I should test it more.

Good morning friends, My channel is mainly about learning how to be a dad (to 2 toddlers) while discovering my inner child. To date, the channel has mainly been about food, self-reflection as a parent, some dog content, but with my daughter's 2nd birthday being today, I decided to do something out of the norm, and out of my comfort zone and write her a children's book. I could've researched it for days on end, but decided to just go with my heart and write something I had no experience doing. To authors, I probably broke about a million rules, but sometimes it's better just doing. Doing the thing, as opposed to...reading about the thing, researching about the thing, procrastinating about the thing. Best thing sometimes is just to do the...thing. I guess that's the thing I got out of it and hopefully that can help others in their YouTube journey. Just do the thing. This is the only YouTube community I'm in and I just wanted to share this with the group. A group I'm most connected with to be honest, all thanks to Alexa. I guess the win for me is that I felt amazing being able to do this for my daughter, and the other win is my daughter is 2 years old. I managed to put 3 solid hours of editing together yesterday and got my video done and posted. I wanted it to go up Monday or Tuesday, so just a day "late". But that's why I don't have scheduled upload dates. Now to repeat that today when I get home from work! It's a little bit of a departure for me, and it's one I've been wanting to do for a long time. Hi everyone. I’m Jon. I’m in Scottsdale Arizona. I’ve dreamed about having a YouTube channel for a while but never felt I had anything helpful enough to share with others. Now with a little more life experience and the realization that many people watching YouTube just want someone to listen to and feel like they share a common experience with, I feel a little more confident that I could be successful. My biggest barrier currently is communicating my thoughts in a passionate and engaging way, which is easy when talking to friends but seems to vanish as soon as it’s just me and the camera. Looking forward to what I will learn in this group though!
