Never Give Up, Success is closer than you think
Like many others I've seen, an app shutting down or a big change in social media doesn’t stop a determined person. After trying different methods, a friend from Flip helped me start selling on TikTok Lives. In my first month (October), I went live for 80 hours, made $200 in sales, and earned about $ 40. In my second month (November), I went live for 146 hours and made $7400 in sales, earning nearly $4,000 in commissions and bonuses. I'm not sharing this to brag but to show that you can make good money in the Creator Economy if you develop your skills. Everyone’s journey is different. Lives just really clicked for me, and that might not be true for everyone. What I'm saying is, if you work hard, improve your skills, and keep searching for what fits you and your talents, things can take off fast. I've been at this for a little over a year, and I'm still just a beginner, but I hope my story gives you hope.

How about phone books?
It's raining and I've been out all day!
It's been raining harder than it has all year. The rain makes me tired, not want to go anywhere, and want to just sit around and drink coffee. Naps sound fun too. But there's also work to do. From where I sit I can see 4 projects that need to be completed. Can I get to them today. Nope. Do I care to. Not today. It's just one of those days. I'm not burned out. I'm actually in a really good spot mentally. I'm just wanting to take the day and cherish the time freedom.

I was thinking this afternoon about Lives vs videos. It's probably because I am such a perfectionist and I tweak and tweak videos in the editing process that causes that burnout feeling for me. Lives are quite different. You turn it on - it's go, go, go, and then you turn it off. Sure, there's some prep work and a steep learning curve. I feel tired after a Live, but not burned out. I am sure the experience is different for everyone, but for me it seems a good fit. I still need to do videos to support the channel, but my income doesn't depend on getting massive quantities of videos done. Something to consider if you have never tried a Live.

TikTok Live
I was scrolling through TikTok just now and there are SO MANY people that are live! TikTok states there is no real-time, up-to-the-minute number for how many people are live on TikTok at any given moment, but the platform eclipsed 100 million livestreamers in 2024. This means millions of users are going live concurrently throughout the day, although the exact number fluctuates constantly. What are you're thoughts about this? Do you think that this type of content will stay the same for a while or will it be boring and we'll have to shift to something new?

I am doing 40 plus hours a week Live. This is where everything is going. According to Google, 20% of TikTok users are watching Lives, but those that do only watch lives. It's like once you start watching lives, you don't go back. However in China, 70% of people who are on social media (not just Douyin [TikTok] but all social media) watch lives. I am focused on establishing a few strong channels in preparation for that wave. This spray and pray massive video content creation thing is not going to last. Quality content will win in the end. We are still in the infancy of this realm.
