I have to start going to dollar tree! I never thought about going there for plant stuff.
🪴 The "Ultimate Aroid Mix" Haul!
I ordered the ingredients to make a custom, professional-grade substrate: • Coco Coir: The sustainable, moisture-holding base. • Coco Chunks: For massive airflow and structure (no more compacted roots!). • Perlite: To ensure perfect drainage so I never have to worry about root rot. • Horticultural Charcoal: To keep the mix "sweet," clean, and filtered. • Pebble Food (Slow-Release Fertilizer): To feed my plants consistently for months. I also add charcoal but I have half a bag left from my last batch What this substrate does: 1. Breathes: The chunks and perlite create air pockets so roots can "breathe." 2. Hydrates: The coco coir acts like a sponge, holding just enough water. 3. Feeds: Since coco coir is neutral, the "pebble food" provides a steady stream of nutrients every time I water. Time to go get my hands dirty! 👋✨ 🤩I can’t wait for all of them to come in !! Feeling like a chemist lol What substrates do you all use ? Do you make your own or do you buy the standard soil bags mixed already ?
