Old-School Striker
Hi, Just to introduce myself, I am an old-school striker. Sure I am old (60), but still execute a few hundred kicks every week, and training in my forms. I am totally uninterested in fighting, and instead am focused on internal work, but one has to be prepared so I still train regularly. Plus I cross train with boxers and karate guys. I 100% recognise the primacy of the ground game in today's competition, but am really only interested in self defense, so it is too hard to get good at jiu jitsu from this position. But I can still learn the shapes of the takedowns (i.e. by having people train with me), and would be very happy to get a sumnmarised review of takedown defense patterns, as this si practical for me to learn at this stage. Repetition makes mastery as long as your practice is perfect, as you all know. Anyway, thats a bit of a boring story, but I hope you publish an anti-grappling video for strikers, as I will defintiely buy it Thanks

@Malachy Friedman thank you coach, it was very impressive. I just wondered if you were going to expand it into a course. I have only ever practised with someone who was good at bjj once, and I realised how useless i was at stopping the takedowns. He had quite a few variations, and he could drop from a fake fighting engagement very quickly. Boxers are definitely very tricky but bjj dudes even more so. When i saw your tips, i was wondering whether you were thinking of organizing all of your principles and techniques into a dvd. I would definitely buy that dvd coach,, as your youtube with the Swedish guys demonstrated how well you understood your craft. So my question was simply to ask about that DVD, since i am a long way away (australia) Thanks
Anti-Grappling for Strikers
Hi Sifu/Sensei/Guru/Other, I saw a great video with you and Jesse Enkamp where you demonstrate some really nice insight and talk about your anti-grappling system (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbbtdL1zwTE). I am super interested in this and wonder if you have any training material setup specifically for strikers training anti-grappling? Or any posted details that i could glean some of your key principles from?? Please advise if you can, thanks for your insights, they were cleverly distilled, and this takes real mastery as it is not easy to make complex things simple, so i really appreciate anything you can point to All the best Brett from Australia
