Cleanse Prep Week Begins!
Here we go, beautiful friends! Our journey toward greater balance, nourishment, and renewal begins✨ This week is all about creating space for the body to release. Before we begin our 9-day kitchari mono-diet, we're going to gently simplify what we're putting into our bodies, while bringing in more of what supports digestion, nourishment, and ease. START GRADUALLY REDUCING: - ☕ Coffee, caffeine & alcohol - 🍬 Refined sugars & processed foods - 🧀 Excess dairy, especially cheese - 🍖 Red meat & heavy, difficult-to-digest proteins - 🍅 Nightshades (tomatoes, peppers, potatoes & eggplant) - 🥜 Large beans, nut butters & soy - 🧂 Excess salt, vinegars & condiments - 🍌 Bananas - 🍕 Heavy, leftover food ✨ HOW DO WE DO THIS? The approach is simple: **Reduce by ¼ of your usual amount each day.** For example, if you're drinking 4 cups of coffee daily: - Day 1: 3 cups - Day 2: 2 cups - Day 3: 1 cup - Day 4: Replace with a nourishing herbal tea such as dandelion root or peppermint. This gradual reduction gives your body time to adjust and can help minimize withdrawal symptoms, cravings, and discomfort. Go more slowly if needed, especially with caffeine. 🌿 WHAT ARE WE ADDING IN? Think WARM, COOKED, SIMPLE & NOURISHING. ✨ Seasonal cooked vegetables ✨ Warm water and digestive teas (CCF, ginger, fennel, peppermint) ✨ Digestive spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric & fennel ✨ Appropriate amounts of healthy fats, including ghee ✨ Gentle movement, breathwork, self-massage & time in nature as much as able (even 10 minutes a few times a week adds up) ✨ Consistent meals, earlier bedtimes & moments of stillness ❤️ NOW, LET'S TALK ABOUT YOUR WHY. Your WHY matters more than any checklist. Why did you choose to join this cleanse? *Maybe you're looking for more energy, better digestion, a calmer mind, or simply a chance to reconnect with yourself. *Maybe you've been giving so much of yourself to everyone else that you're finally ready to get some of that love and attention back. Whatever brought you here, hold onto it.

My main reason for doing this seasonal detox is because I have been dealing with digestive issues for years and am very hopeful and confident that this will start a great reset in my body to begin to heal whatever is not in alignment right now ❤️🙏🏻❤️

Dae's fall cleanse review for anyone considering joining us!
Way to go @Daelyn Brouwer **we begin the group cleanse the last week of October for anyone interested! My Pitta Cleanse Experience Going into my Pitta cleanse, I honestly wasn’t sure how I was going to feel by the end of it. I knew the first few days would probably be the hardest, but I didn’t expect how much my experience would change as the cleanse went on. The first few days were definitely the most challenging. I had to completely cut out caffeine, sugar, and all foods outside of kitchari, and there were definitely moments where I questioned why I had decided to do this! I’m also someone who tends to stress eat and boredom eat, so I quickly realized that I wasn’t just going to be changing what I ate. I was going to have to actually sit with some of the feelings and habits that I normally distract myself from with food. But by about day 5, something shifted. My cravings became little to none, my energy felt much more stable, and I started feeling genuinely GOOD. I was surprised by how clear my brain felt. I went into this expecting the lack of caffeine to leave me exhausted and foggy, but my energy actually felt better than I expected. My sleep also improved, and overall I felt lighter, clearer, and more grounded. I lost 9.5 lbs during the cleanse, which was definitely noticeable, but what stood out to me even more was how I felt in my body. I stayed consistent with my gym routine throughout the cleanse and felt like I was able to maintain my strength and muscle while giving my body a break from all of the other foods and habits I normally have. I’ll be completely honest though: my emotions have been ALL over the place loll. And from an Ayurvedic perspective, I know that emotional ups and downs can be part of the process of excess Pitta coming to the surface and releasing. There was definitely a lot of anger that came up for me during parts of this cleanse. Normally, I might have tried to distract myself from those feelings or push them down, but this time I really had to sit with them.

Today’s Family Plan lunch
Simple, filling, nutrient-dense food that doesn’t need to be complicated. 🍠 Sweet potato crackers topped with guacamole + roasted beets 🫘 Refried black beans with rice 🌿 Sautéed spinach One of the beautiful things about pairing beans + rice is how well they complement each other nutritionally. Together, their amino acid profiles provide all nine essential amino acids across the meal — making this a high plant-based protein combination. Black beans bring protein, fibre, iron, magnesium and folate. Organic basmati rice adds carbohydrates (sweet taste) for energy and additional amino acids. Spinach brings folate, iron, magnesium and vitamins A, C + K, while sweet potato, avocado and beets add even more fibre, antioxidants, healthy fats and colourful plant compounds. This is the kind of meal we want our Family Plan families to see more often: whole foods, lots of colour, plenty of fibre, protein + healthy fats = nourishing enough to actually keep you satisfied + satiated (all nutrient requirements met 🙌🥳) Eating well doesn’t have to mean fancy ingredients or complicated recipes. Sometimes it’s just beans, rice, vegetables and a little loving intention.

This sounds like my kind of food - where did you get the sweet potato crackers or did you make them?? And as well as that brand of black beans. I’ve never seen them before. Love new recipes ❤️

Rethink protein:
Shared from facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BJenCsgW5/ In Nicoya, Costa Rica, people have eaten this plate for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for generations. It looks humble. Nutritionally, it’s anything but. Rice and beans, eaten together, form a complete protein: all nine essential amino acids your body can’t make on its own — from two simple plants, no meat required. Now add it up. Fiber from the beans and whole grains. Healthy fats from a few slices of avocado. Slow-digesting complex carbs instead of refined ones. Together they make a meal that helps keep blood sugar steady, keeps you full for hours, and feeds the gut bacteria tied to a longer, healthier life. The Nicoyans call it gallo pinto — “spotted rooster.” I call it one of the best longevity foods on earth. Beans are the cornerstone of every blue zones diet: the people who eat about a cup a day tend to outlive the people who don’t. No supplements. No complicated plan. Just two of the cheapest foods in the world, eaten together — the way the world’s longest-lived people have always done it.
