Weapon awareness is one of the primary advantages to training Kali or other systems that assume a weapon. The contact management here is perfect and the signal to pre-emptive attack was given a few times.

Heavy vs Light Impact Weapon Tactics
I was talking with a student about the difference between figure 8 striking and "1-2" striking. Really it comes down to the weapon you are using.

Is a stick a good self defense tool?
