@Chrissy Hogue Bartels you're totally fine lol that's for sure most important and if we add a tool that helps make it even better, why not.
What you see is mostly a reflection of what you believe
Two people walk into the identical situation and one sees opportunity while the other sees threat. The situation did not change. The filter did. We do not see the world as it is, we see it as we ARE. This is not wishful thinking, it is how attention works. Your beliefs decide what your eyes are allowed to notice. Change the belief and a whole set of options you were blind to suddenly appears. Learning to run that filter on purpose is some of the most practical inner work there is, and I unpack it across my 17-day series: Doing the Work in Public Where in your life do you suspect your filter is showing you less than what is actually there? One more! Have you seen or heard of the gorilla experiement?

So true! This post reminds me of this example from Jim that is phenomenal.

@Aimee Jardon I never read this one, that's fantastic. Gotta enjoy Carnegie's teaching right, he's fantastic. I love his book How to Win Friends & Influence People. And it's similar to Jim's example in the video I posted above.

I Created the ANT Method. Here's the Full Breakdown.
Here is the fully produced video from today's rehearsal. It doesn't have jump cuts because I am using it to submit to TEDx Talks. ANTs are Automatic Negative Thoughts. Dr. Daniel Amen named them. I built the method for marching them out. There are three steps. Spot it. Sing it. Switch it. I grew up in New York City with a playwright father and on food stamps. Theatre gave me confidence before I had any reason for it. Music taught me that the fastest way to change how I feel is to change what I am doing. That is where this method came from. Full video breakdown, with the science and the origin story, is here! What is the ANT that marches in most often for you? Name it. Naming it is the first step.

@Chrissy Hogue Bartels I don't think so. Do you use CapCut or something else?
Just Arranged 😎
I just locked in something I'm fired up about. On Wednesday, July 8th I'm teaching a live workshop called S"tage Presence for YouTubers," built for one specific person: the creator who knows YouTube can bring them clients but freezes the second the camera turns on. I'm a SAG-AFTRA actor and a communication professor, and getting people to hold a camera the way I hold a stage is what I do all day. In this session I'll show you how to stop sounding stiff, how to hold a viewer past the first ten seconds, and how to end a video like you meant it instead of trailing off. Free, live, and hands-on. Save the date: Wednesday, July 8th at 12pm CST. What is the one thing about being on camera that trips you up most? Tell me below so I make sure I cover it.

Well done with this invitation. My fear of public speaking went away about 7/8 years ago after thousands of hours of preparation and practice, and since then I've been enjoying that I'd love to make my career out of it :)

Helping leaders become the ones they want to follow. Leadership isn’t a title. It’s how you show up daily.
